So much bang for your buck!
This frame set is amazing! I had bought an individual one of these frames in the past and absolutely loved the quality and ease of use of the velcro system to adhere my fabric to the rods. This set gives me so many options to ensure I have the right size frame for each of my projects. If I were to buy all these sizes individually, I would spend so much more! I love that it also comes with a couple of sidebar size options. This is completely worth the investment!!!

The wood is nicely finished unlike the old frame where the thread would ...
I do quite a bit of embroidery and cross stitching and had been using a frame I purchased at least 20years ago. It sort of did the job. What an improvement this new frame is. The wood is nicely finished unlike the old frame where the thread would catch on the unfinished wood. And no more sore fingers from tightening the frame with little screw-type things; the knobs are so much better. The velcro strips to attach the work to the frame work great. Of course the fabric loosens up a bit over time - you're constantly putting pressure on it. (I read some reviews with this complaint.) But it's so easy and simple to tighten with the knobs, this is really not a problem. I am very happy with this new frame. Don't know why I didn't get one sooner.

Works great alone or with E-Z Stitch Lap Stand
I bought this to use with E-Z Stitch Lap Stand -Solid Oak as I had a project that needed an 18" rod. I did also need 22" Adpater Bar For E-Z Stitch Lap Stand-Solid Oak for the 14", 16", and 18" rods to use with the lap stand.I prefer to use with the lap stand for a hands-free approach, but it could also be used alone. I love the variety of sizes included and that it allows me to have multiple projects going at once without needing to switch the fabric out.The velcro is easy to use, but you will eventually need more for the fabric side American Dream Scroll Rod No-Basting System Molded Hook Tape-3/8x3 Yards . The rods come mounted with the back side velcro and you won't need to replace this unless it somehow comes off.

I've tried most of the frames out there, but this is the best by far. Any product with a split rod, whether wood or plastic, simply doesn't maintain tension reliably. The variety of rod lengths is a big plus, too, making it a useful system even if you don't like to do bigger projects. You do have to continue to buy the velcro part of the system for the fabric, but you can usually get it for $7-8 for a few yards, which lasts quite a while. Overall, excellent system - stable, reliable, and lets me focus on my sewing projects, rather than keep worrying and messing with my frame.

This is THE scroll frame!
Just received this product about two hours ago and I already feel like I need to tell the world how incredibly awesome it is. It's incredibly awesome, people! Beautifully crafted in a nice FINISHED wood (yay, no splinters!) and so dang sturdy I feel like I've been stitching in the Dark Ages all this time. The no-baste strips are amazing! I love that all the hardware components are built right into the frame pieces. No nasty wing nuts sticking out to grab floss and scrape unsuspecting fingers. It just looks so beautiful and it works so great. Ahhhh. OK, done gushing for now.

Beats split-rod needlework frames hands down
I've been a cross stitcher for close to 30 years, and I've never used a needlework frame better than this one. This system holds your fabric to the rods with a velcro-like fastening strip, and compared to a split-rod frame, it is like night and day. I've never had to loosen my work completely to reset the fabric on the rods, the most I've had to do is tighten the rod up a bit on the frame.Split rod frames work by squeezing the fabric between a slit in a round dowel, and then you roll the fabric around the dowel. Over time, the fabric will loosen from the slit in the rod. When this happens, you must completely unroll the fabric from the rod and start from the beginning. I always had problems getting the fabric to stay in the split dowel straight, and I could never get it tight enough for stitching. With this frame, there are two pieces of velcro-like tape, one strip on the rod, and one strip on your fabric. (You will have to measure your fabric about an inch longer than you normally would, you just cut the tape off your fabric when your project is complete.) There is no basting, no messing with split rods. You line up your project to the rod, press it on, roll the fabric over the rod, and start stitching. It is SO much nicer than messing with basting or split rods. One note, in using this system, the tape is one-time use. You only have to buy enough tape for your rods once, but you will have to buy new tape for the fabric each time you start a new project.

Twisted Rods
I was so looking forward to all the different lengths of dowels but discovered when attaching them to the frame that the threaded rods issuing from the ends are not always inserted perfectly straight. There is no way to straighten them out. The result is that once the dowels are attached, the frame is twisted. I did get one of the pairs into the frame and then twist back enough to be straight enough to use, but some of the other lengths were unusable once in the frame because they twisted the frame so out of line. I wouldn't buy this product again, waste of money.

Love It
When the frame I used for 18 years recently broke & I couldn't find the replacement part for it I looked at a lot of frames. I thought this one was a bit expensive, but I do a lot of counted cross stitch & wanted one that would last a long time & be easy to use. This is definitely worth the price & it is constantly in use. I love and highly recommend it!

Wonderful invention
I do several size crafts and of late been doing smaller ones, these come in so handy because of the many sizes available to fit my table stand, much easier then putting in those circles and doing on your lap. I use the stick on velcro and it makes it so much easier also.

Very nice wood quality
Very nice wood quality and I was very much looking forward to this set. Unfortunately I made steps to return within 5 minutes of opening the packageThe velco piece stuck to the rods were peeling on the sides of several of the rods and on one of the rods the Velcro piece is crooked I imagine this would prevent me getting nice tension when stitching.
