GreaT tool for “kids” of all ages to learn on
I’m a 56 year old “kid” deciding whether or not to buy a real rigid heddle loom which as you know is expensive. I’m not sure if I have the patience for it but turns out o do. This is very basic but it teaches the lingo and the basics and gets you familiar with the new tools. Pretty well made for the price but still a toy. Served its purpose for me.

Great technology, simple design. create a larger one for adults.
This product is well made. For a new weaver the technology is simple and easily understood. Fewer moving parts woth out complications. Pracitce and enthusiasm however now force me to use this item to work out on a small scale the bigger pieces I am now attempting. I wish you had a bigger weaving unit using this same technology. I would buy it . Thank you.

ADORABLE!
My niece really wanted ""crafty" items for Christmas this year, and honestly it can be a bit overwhelming shopping for them. So, when looking I am always wanting names I can trust and items that appear well made and easy to use. This FAO Schwarz weaving set checked all those boxes for me! With all the buzz on TV about the FAO toy store opening in New York City, I was thrilled to be able to buy her something without making the trip there. I also really appreciate that it is made of wood, and not plastic, meaning it will last past December. Finally, I loved how easy it looked to use. The video was excellent, I plan on showing it to my niece, great teaching piece. I'm sure she's going to LOVE it!!!

Ordered 5, 2 were defective! Otherwise great!
These are cleverly designed and sturdy little looms. However, the instructions and assembly leave room for improvement! I ordered five through Donors Choose for my elementary art classroom. One was missing screws to hold the heddle knobs on. They fell off but I glued them back on. The other was missing the disk behind the red knob in the front. That combined with the bad instructions led to serious confusion the first time I strung the warp and removed the finished weaving from the loom. Once I got past those issues they're great looms and the 3rd grade test pilot loved his weaving experience and can't wait to continue! I plan on making a good YouTube to explain how to use this loom.

Not a dumb toy
So often children's versions of adult tools are about as useful as toddler "vacuum cleaners" and just teach children that they are not actually expected to have any useful outcome from their play. THIS IS NOT A DUMB TOY. The loom appears very well made and got my five year old niece up and running quickly. She has a propensity for all things textile and this was a perfect Christmas present for her since she has been entranced with my own grown-up adventures in spinning and weaving. I can't wait to see what she creates in the coming year on her very own child-sized but fully-functional little loom with real wooden shuttles. If she takes to it long enough, I may have to splurge on a full-sized tabletop loom in a few years, but this is a great way to give her a taste of the craft at a good size for her little hands.
