Great quality, great price, works great
Used this setter to put 1/4" black eyelets in a kydex gun holster I made. 1st try ever I messed up and made it lob-sided. I tried again and was more careful and it set perfectly. I just had to be sure I kept the die aligned with the base of the eyelet, and that I hit the top nice and flush and tapped it a little, checked it, tapped it some more, checked it. Repeated that process until it was set just right. It takes a little more time than an arbor press setup but the cost comparison makes this manual setter more cost efficient if you're only needing to set eyelets every now and then. A little practice could even make this a better route to take for some people.

Works as advertised, however….
I bought this to use on kydex 1/4” eyelets. The punch works fine, but the provided anvil won’t work with 1/4” kydex #8,9 eyelets because the anvil seat doesn’t match the eyelet base ring.

Some good some bad
The punch works great but I hope you have an anvil. The base of mine was sized incorrectly and would bend the eyelet when I hammered on it. I couldnt figured out what I was doing wrong until I ditched the small anvil it came with and just used the anvil on my vice. Eyelets started curling over with very little effort. The back of them flattens if you hammer too hard which is why it would be nice to have the small anvil in this set work properly but my vice anvil will do for now.

Works Perfectly
I'm using this tool to attach 1/4" eyelets to kydex knife sheaths, and it works perfectly. I doesn't mar or damage the eyelets in any way, and the attachment is as tight as you want to make it. I would advise checking on YouTube for instructions on using this tool. It does require a little finesse.

A little tricky
A little tricky at first I tried to rush it and smash it hard first time. I use my drill press and it works great if you take your time and do just a little pressing each time making sure anvil is perfectly centered. My last big sheath came out great. My first set of sheaths all got smashed to one side. Patience is the key when using. Overall great value for the beginner.

Simple, easy to use
I am using it to set 1/4" eyelets on a knife sheath and belt holes . Great little tool for beginners. Easy to use. I was able to set the very first one on a practice run. The trick is to go easy to widen the eyelet evenly. Once it's fully flared out, it will set correctly, without cracking.

Doesn't fit, totally worthless
The finished side does not fit in the anvil, so there's really no way to use it. I tried using a piece of wood in place of the anvil. After a half hour of ruining eyelets I used the punch on the finished side (where you would normally use the anvil) and then peened the back side of the eyelet with a rounded hammer - these came out perfectly. I am an amateur blacksmith and gunsmith and have a lot of experience hand peening rivets - so this worked well for me - not sure I would recommend it for someone who have never hand peened a rivet before. I'm going to return this and make my own anvil and punch - I think I'm going to design it to work in my 20 ton press as opposed to hammering.

Kit incomplet
Commandé pour poser des oeillets sur un étui à couteau, à l'arrivée, il n'y avait que l'enclume. Le sachet de plastique contenant le kit était percé et la tige était manquante.

not impressed
When it came in I assumed that it would have a setting block and it didn't. Looking at it im regretting not just making one I don't think it's worth anything.
