This is an amazing additional accessory for the Aeropress, and works really well. There is one reason for the 1 star removed though, and that is there is some sharp bits sticking out of the side of the filters that needed filing down before they were safe to use or handle (very small amount of filing to be honest). These burrs are quite sharp and need to be removed otherwise they would damage the aeropress and definitely cut you (from painful experience) if you do not remove them first. But, once they have been filed down a little (took me less than 5 minutes to do all four), they are amazing, and well worth the price.

I use both the metal disc & the mesh disc, shop bought ground coffee, no issue, consistently great result. Sure it’s not as simple as paper, but I prefer it.

These aren't a perfect fit, so coffee grinds leak through. The one for fine ground coffee is impossible to do a press through. I have to push down so hard I'm worried about breaking my mug underneath. The mesh leaks too much liquid through so it's more like a.drip coffee in the end and impossible to the invented method with this one without getting coffee everywhere. Neither are a.good fit and there's often coffee grinds in the coffee.

Well made and best used as an emergency filter even though this is just a good as the paper filters. Impressed.

Funzionano molto bene, il filtro solido microforato dopo qualche uso tende un po' a intasarsi, quello a rete no. Il filtro a rete è un po' più spesso e entra leggermente meno bene ma basta farci la mano. Non ho notato una differenza di sapore tra i caffè prodotti dai due filtri. Rispetto al filtro di carta c'è una differenza leggerissima, avvertibile solo facendo un confronto diretto. Dato che il filtro metallico non trattiene gli olii essenziali e lascia passare alcune microparticelle di caffè il gusto è leggermente più intenso, con una nota leggermente più amara che a me non dispiace ma che ad altri potrebbe non piacere

I never thought I'd buy an Aeropress because I don't really enjoy paper-filtered coffee. In contrast to paper filters, these metal filters (I use the fine version, not the mesh) do not remove the oils in coffee which to me is one of the crucial parts of the flavour of coffee. It's easier to use the upside-down method when brewing coffee in an Aeropress with these filters. I tend to put 15g of medium ground coffee in with 170ml of hot water, stir and then steep for 2 minutes before flipping it over a cup and pressing down. Since I bought these together with an Aeropress, I hardly use my espresso machine.
