Skeins Lacey Craft Cotton Crochet 20 Pcs Yarn Cross Stitch Knitting Thread Tatting Doilies Assorted Colors Size 40

Compared to actual size 40 thread (light green in the photo), the white thread is a bit thicker but still comparably pliable. The difference is noticeable on such a small crochet hool though. The other colors seem to be even thicker and stiffer, and appear braided/plied with more strands than the white. Labels have been removed from the thread balls, so I cannot tell the exact size or color/brand if I wanted more either. On a burn test, all thread does appear to be cotton, not acrylic

This set includes lovely colors of thread, but it is NOT size 40 cotton thread. It is much larger than #40. I’d say that it is very close to size 20! I won’t be sending it back because as an avid crocheter, I’m sure I will find a use for it sometime … just not right now. I’ve ordered some more #40 cotton crochet thread and I’m hoping it’s what the description says it is.
