NOT Organic, Confusing Labeling, Bait & Switch...Still Want to Buy It?
I am so disgusted with the false advertising from some of these sellers, and it's compounded by the fact that frequently Amazon is complicit as well. It is impossible to do a search for "organic" products on Amazon, as paid sellers work their way into the feed, and the consumer must sort through to locate the actual organic products and disregard all the other either non-organic or fake organic products that appear in the search. Enthusiastic buyers give mislabeled products great reviews because they love the artificial scent, pushing bad products even higher on the list. One can't even search by "USDA Organic" - the search items are delivered as if I simply entered "product". Which leads me to this lotion. The brand is called "Maui Organics", so the product is called "Maui Organics Moisture Lotion", popping it to the top of an "organic lotion" search list. The first line in the text reads ALL ORGANIC RICH FORMULA. The Product Description reads "natural and all organic lotion". Really? Because there's no "USDA Organic" label on the bottle. In fact, the bottle I received doesn't look like the one on Amazon at all, and even the ingredients are different. But neither is certified organic. The USDA Organic designation is only available to products that are 100% organic. Maui Organics obviously could not meet those requirements, yet the bottle I received still boasts "Organic", and the listing is peppered with the word (sadly, many of the reviews are too). So let's look at the list of ingredients which, by the way, is also different than that pictured on Amazon. I think everyone knows by now that the ingredients are required by law to be listed in the order of predominance in the product itself. The very first ingredient - with absolutely no organic designation - is a mysteriously labeled "Island Essence Proprietary Emollient Concentrate". What on earth is that??? I don't know, what wouldn't you want people to know about your fake organic product? I'll take a stab: parabens? propylene glycol? fragrance? mineral oil? It's the very first ingredient, which is the primary ingredient in the lotion! And, not incidentally, organic products do not list mystery ingredients - unless they are specifically labeled as organic mystery ingredient. Organic consumers want to know what they are paying for. If you smell this lotion, it's clearly fortified with artificial fragrance - coconut oil is a delicate scent, and funnily enough, vanilla essential oil isn't even listed on the label of this "Vanilla Lotion". This smells strongly artificial, and sure enough, fragrance oil is listed on the bottle. Of the 13 ingredients in this lotion, only FIVE are listed as organic; and the first ingredient is some concoction of nonorganic, inscrutable substances that you most likely do NOT want slathered onto and soaking into the largest organ of your body. Apparently someone else pointed this out to the company, as the bottle on the website (which is not the one sold) shows Organic Aloe Vera as the first ingredient. That's a pretty significant formulation change, considering my bottle shows (nonorganic) aloe vera as the 10th item on the list, which out of 13 was presumably a rather insignificant amount, right down there with lavender oil and fragrance. Now - on the website at least - it's the major ingredient on the list, pushing magical mystery goop down to Number 2.Enough. Consumers should not have to work this hard to determine whether a product is organic. And shame on me, because the USDA label was clearly not on the bottle, and I should not have been fooled by the wanton use of the word "organic". But sometimes we shop fast, and we don't have time to read through everything (and in this case, everything I read was false anyway). The only way we can fight back is to warn others, not purchase the product, or return it if we were careless enough to buy it in the first place. I'm really careful, and it happened to me. Amazon needs to put its customer base ahead of its marketing proceeds, and this company needs to clean up its advertising and product descriptions if it truly wants to be regarded as an ethical organic company.

Mexico and heard of people getting bad sunburns and being bed ridden during vacation
I'm a male in my mid 30's and honestly never been into lotions or moisturizers. Seeing that here in a few months I'm going to Cancun, Mexico and heard of people getting bad sunburns and being bed ridden during vacation. I figured with the advice of my fiance of tanning in a tanning bed before I go. Makes sense I'm pretty fair completed and burn easy. After a couple tanning 8 min sessions I noticed my redness was warm to the point I thought I was burnt. I skipped a few days til the redness went down and had no visual tan difference to show for it either. I bought this on amazon being I'm a natural ingredient kind of guy. It's going on my skin after all and I'm not trying to look 50 when I'm forty lol. All I can say I'm tanning 15 min pretty much daily and this lotion takes all the heat away. I apply it right before I get dressed after tanning. The redness is there but no heat and by morning it's turning into a tan. My only reason for 4 stars is mainly I find it a little on the runny side. It could be I keep it in my truck but still could be thicker. Helps with turning my tan by taking the heat away so I can deal with a little drip. Will be purchasing more and trying their other products. I bought this at listed price, I didn't get any special promotion or discount for my review from anyone. Just letting you know my experience with this moisturizer.

Love this lotion! Not just for after sun/
This lotion was just what I was looking for. The ingredients are harmless, the scent is amazing and it is very calming on irritated or burned skin. While I know it's listed as an "after sun" product, I wouldn't let that detour you from purchasing even if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in the sun. It's very calming, absorbs relatively quickly and leaves my skin looking radiant most of the day. On a scale of one to ten, with 1 being water and 10 being a very thick body butter, I'd say this is about a 4. It's definitely not a thick lotion, but still moisturizes wonderfully for average skin. I will be buying more soon!

Product smells awesome but I wonder if it is as organic as it claims to be. I wasn't able to locate company website or the social media pages which makes me think this is generically produced
