I have smoke tested the alarm and I am pleased to report that it works, the alarm is loud enough to be heard all over my average sized 3 bedroom detached property. I will be happy to purchase more to replace the other fire alarms I have fitted when they need replacing.

Purchased this optical smoke detector to replace a faulty one on my landingThe item arrived quickly via Amazon, so not to be without a smoke detector in this area too long.When it arrived, I was very impressed on the quality of the product, ease of installing with the information pages having full instructions in all European languages. Which I wasn't surprised once I discovered it was a European productChecking it out it met all criteria in safety. Testing, quality assurance etc.I chose the 1 year battery life model as I feel it gives more assurance if replacing battery once a year.Installation was straightforward, follow the instructions, fit the base plate. Insert battery, there is a battery prevention arm that protrudes preventing fitting without battery. Once battery installed, this lever retracts. Then it was a matter of aligning head unit to base, a quick twist job done.After leaving to settle for 5 minutes, the RED operational LED intermittently flashes to give visual indication unit is working.A quick test of the push to test / push to hush. The audible alarm 85db was super loud. So now I feel safe in knowledge I have a working smoke detector at a price that won't break the bankQuality 5Company 5Ease of use 5A pleasant recommendation of 5/5 for this product from me.* Unit uses 9v battery. One is included and when deplete, around 12 months, unit will audio beep to indicate it requires changing.

Seems to work ok, it's gone off on 2 occasions for no reason but other than that, its fine

Easy to fit and very loud. Frightens the cats and gets you out of bed pretty damn quick. Neighbour has one but she goes for a walk when it goes off, poor cook I suspect.

Does not work. Did a smoke test and did not sound off. Absolute disgrace, should be prosecuted!!!!!!

These detectors are great value for the money, they look so much better in the ceilings than other models as they are well designed, not oversized like some and they are very easy to fit and to use/test./Highly recommended and the multipack makes them even better value!

Looked neat and tidy,easy to fit ,only issue is a couple of the batteries supplied were poor quality and had to be changed in a week,I would still definitely buy again

La batterie du detecteur n'est garantie que 1 an et pas 10ans comme le descriptif pourrait le laisser croire.

2 minutes pour installer, un détecteur de fumée tout simple et qui fait parfaitement le job, à un prix très intéressant.Je recommande.

Ich habe kürzlich das 4er Pack Smartwares Rauchmelder (Modell: 10.100.41) erworben, die eine Lebensdauer von 10 Jahren und TÜV-Prüfung versprechen. Die Installation war dank der zusätzlich gekauften Magnethalter wirklich einfach und ohne großen Aufwand.Leider war eine der Batterien bei der Lieferung bereits leer, was ein kleines Ärgernis war, aber schnell durch den Austausch behoben wurde. Der Testlauf der Melder zeigte, dass sie sehr laut sind – ein gutes Zeichen dafür, dass wir sie im Notfall überall im Haus hören können.Die Rauchmelder sind nun an strategischen Orten in unserem Zuhause platziert: unter dem Dach, im zweiten Stock an der Treppe und in der Küche. Ich fühle mich durch diese Rauchmelder sicherer, besonders weil unser alter Warnmelder nun in Rente geht. Insgesamt bin ich zufrieden mit dem Kauf, trotz des kleinen Anfangsproblems mit der Batterie.
