cheap and lightweight
I went on a quest on (the) Amazon to find the best henley shirt. I bought Dickies, Good Threads and Eddie Bauer. Here's what I found. The Dickies is the best choice for a rugged work shirt. It had the heaviest strongest cotton, washes well, and I've always found that the Dickies brand is a far better value across the board compared to its nearest competitor,Carhartt. You're getting the same thing at half the price. Of course, this isn't the "waffle" material like the following two.The Good Threads had the cheapest, lightest material. It aged and shrunk noticably after only one wash. This also had a slimmer fit. This might be good for layering, or pajamas, but it would be quickly destroyed in a work environment. Also, after laundering, it seems the heather effect is dulled. The Eddie Bauer is the best looking, with the unique heather waffle material which held up fine after a wash. It is thicker more substantial material than the Good Threads and shrunk only a little after the first wash. I wouldrather wear this for "good casual" than for work. I got the purple and the heather effect doesn't bleed away in the wash. Now if you want the beefiest of all henleys and can spare the cost, try the Camber X-treme jersey from AllSeasonsUniforms.com.

If you are ordering for a female
I’m a gal who ordered this because finding women’s clothing made of 100% cotton is increasingly difficult. The ‘denimn’ label says it’s 100% cotton, and although it’s not super soft, it does seem to breathe like cotton. . Not a heavyweight fabric, but will be warmer than a T shirt. The seams are straight and it seems to be well made. I’m 5’7” tall, 138lbs. The S, after washing and drying, has a slim fit and is reasonably flattering on a female. Not too clingy through the midsection or under the arms, but if you are a busty gal you will want to size up. I’m tallish with monkey arms, so the extra length in the arms and torso is great for me.. These will be workshirts, so I’m more concerned with comfort than fashion, so when I order another one, and I will, I’ll size up to M, just for a little extra room.

As usual heather is not 100% cotton
I should have known; heathers almost never are 100% cotton…why I dont know…but its a nice shirt…but I would have liked all cotton as the description says…

Fits smaller than expected but still a good value
I am 6’4”, 230 pounds, and have an athletic build. Typically I prefer regular fit clothing in XL or XL Tall. I ordered this henley in XLT and it’s a little slimmer than I was hoping for. Still looks good but if it shrinks much in the wash I’m going to end up looking like an extra from the Jersey Shore. Edit: it shrunk a lot in the wash. Going to have to order a size up.Stitching and fabric quality look good. The fabric is thick enough that I can easily wear this on cool fall days. The buttons are sewn on well. The waffle texture is very fine which I like. Color shown online is very true to the product I received.I would recommend sizing up if you don’t want a slim fit. Otherwise it’s an excellent value for the money.

Great material and look
It’s a great fit. Looks really nice. If you have an athletic physique you will be able to tell. I am 5’10 160lb and a small fits great. I love the feel and material. But after wearing it for the day it becomes less fitted. But overall great shirt and will keep you looking great

Like the river driver shirts from the past
This is a really nice shirt for the price. I got the black in XL regular for my husband who is 6 feet tall and very thin at 145 lbs. It fits him perfectly. It hangs nicely but not over-sized on him. The photo of the black shirt on the Amazon model appears a bit tighter than on my husband. It's more like the looser fit on the model wearing the olive color shirt. It's 100% cotton. The "slub" appears as a slightly lighter color thread running through the weave, but it's not like heather. It subdues the black somewhat, making the appearance at a distance a very dark gray. The only complaint I have is that the stitching across the top of the shoulder is not covered and I was worried it might not lie flat. But the shoulders seem fine on him, no problem. Overall a very classy shirt! I'd buy it again and recommend it.

Very impressive Amazon
I must say, I never really thought I would be able to get clothing from Amazon. Saying this I also would not have expect the fit to be so great. This shirt is just as good as any above budget shirt you'd find in any store in the mall.It really didn't shrink that much either, but I must admit I do not dry this shirt in the dryer either. You wouldn't go wrong with ordering this shirt. However I will say at least if you get the Amazon essentials version of this shirt it will definitely shrink on you. Id highly recommend skipping that, and just picking this one up instead.

Careful it shrinks
Let me start by saying that I have been impressed with the quality and style of the Goodthreads brand to date. However, this was the first item that was disappointing. First, it shrank considerably after the first wash. Second, the quality of the material is poor. The fabric is extremely stuff but thin, you can see through it. I ordered the ivory color that had more yellow tones than I wanted, but was within reason. The picture online looked closer to white. Lastely the color becomes like "bacon" after the first wash. It loses its form and just becomes wavey and sloppy looking.I will emphasize again that overall I am fond of all the Goodthreads clothing items I have bought, except for this shirt.

Everything is good apart from the seam on the shoulder
Pretty much exactly what I was looking for but the seam on one of the shoulders was really badly joined so it rose up like a tectonic plate. I saw the same criticism in another review but was hoping it was a one-off.The fact it wasn't means they are selling these knowing that they are substandard....and therefore wasting everyone'stime as they get returned. Come on if there's a manufacturing problem sort it out. If you want a review for your products then listen to what the customer says or you lose them

My sons very favourite shirts.
I have noticed when we review times we have purchased, it says "Amazon verified purchase". I very much it included a number, because this says more than anything how much we really like an item. If that were the case for this item, it would say 5x, though I have bought different colours. We started out with brand name Henley type shirts. I especially like the thermal knit ones. Something about this type of knit that traps heat when worn under a coat, or under the covers, but it remains breathable when it gets hot. Though we have owned a few brands, some very much more expensive than Amazon, there are none my son loves as much. He says these are the softest most comfortable shirts ever, and even I notice the difference in how soft they feel. The only complaint I have is that they don't make some bottoms like some waffle knit top companies. If they had tops and bottoms my son would be in heaven.I love the way these look, I think they have such a classic style, but it's definitely comfort that has caused us to buy so many... And my son is a hard one to please as far as comfort. I am absolutely certain we will buy more in time.I wrote fits as expected , but I was hesitant. I find them just a tiny bit large for size, but not by much. I would also note they are rather stretchy, and if bought in a smaller size would conform to body shape, but my son prefers them loose. We wash these constantly as unless my son is in school, he is usually wearing one. We have had no problems with anything. I did notice some buyers has some problems with a seam, and can only conclude they may have had a faulty batch at some point, we haven't had any problems with any of the ones we purchased. My son does wear some of these for outdoor activities and we have found them quite durable.I am.absolutist certain I will buy more of these, and very much recommend.

Does shrink on wool wash
It’s a nice fabric that comes up large, but does shrink significantly on a wool wash. However, now it’s a better fit.My recommendation is to go up at least one size!

Good quality and no issues
I bought two which came at different times. I usually take a medium and these fitted well. I waited for when I washed one of them to leave a review as I read some people have had an issue with shrinking. I washed at 30c with no problems. A nice classic style that looks good
