Mason CashSilicone Baking and Pastry Mat, 45 X 35 cm

I haven’t used this yet, but am impressed with it. The underneath has a very ‘sticky’ surface so I can tell that it will not move when using it to roll pastry out on.

Easy to clean. Easy to store. Keep it rolled round my rolling pin. I find it less cumbersome than lugging out chunky heavy board.

Despite being thin silicone, this Mason Cash mat isn't that overly-soft-and-flexible silicone that you often find in pastry mats. It "sticks" fairly well even to my wooden counter top and only really decides to detach itself when rolling out stickier doughs. Though to avoid that you'd likely need a much more rigid mat of a different material.The size is perfect for rolling out most small batches of dough etc. and I only needed to exceed its boundary once when trying to line a very large pie tray.My main problem with it, however, is that despite only being rolled up into a fairly loose tube to be stored away in a drawer, it has begun to crack and tear in the direction of the rolled tube's length. This is only after perhaps a couple dozen uses. Unfortunately for this reason alone it will likely soon have to be binned once those cracks open further.
