Best non-synthetic chewable vitamin as of 2019...
Firstly, let me start by stating that I know Nestle acquired Garden of Life in 2017. Of course, I enjoy supporting small, family-owned business. However, until I find a better alternative as a chewable vitamin for my toddler, this is in my opinion best offering in the market as mentioned below. My wife breastfed my son until he was 20 months old. Then he became a very picky eater. We know it is a phase and will end sometime in the future, but until then we wanted to supplement his diet with a good quality vitamin. We researched extensively various 'well-regarded' brands for vitamins for children that were not produced with synthetic this and that, that were free of artificial flavors, sweeteners, colorings, etc. And, we found 3 products. One is this one, which is a chewable vitamin. The other is Drucker Labs IntraKid, which is a liquid vitamin. Third is MegaFood's Kids One Daily; this is a vitamin for older kids that can swallow a small tablet as it is 'not' in chewable form.At 20 months, MegaFoods' Kids One Daily was not in our list as our son wouldn't be able to swallow a tablet for quite some time. We bought Drucker Labs IntraKid at first. This is a liquid vitamin, very expensive and suggested for children who are 4 and older (like Garden of Life's Multivitamin). We planned to start with quarter of the suggested dose to our 20 months old son and then increase it to the half of the suggested dose when our son reached 2 years old. IntraKid is full of good stuff, no doubt. However, when you put that much stuff in a liquid vitamin (including Omegas), I don't think there is a flavor in the world that can make it taste good. We tried to inject the liquid with a syringe to his mouth. We tried to mix it with juices, etc. (he would never finish the whole thing, which meant he couldn't get the exact amount). There was simply no way we could make our son drink Intrakid. When we tried it, it was very bad tasting. There is no way I could drink it regularly myself to be honest. Hence, we saw no point buying it again and spending that much money. Then, we tried Garden of Life... Firstly, we both tried it ourselves and loved the taste actually. It is packed with lots of important vitamins, no artificial flavors, colorings and still taste decent. Of course, if a kid or adult was used to taking chewable vitamins with artificial flavors/sweeteners, it would probably be a hard switch. Obviously, this wasn't the case for our son. At 20 months old, we started with half a bear. It breaks easily; you don't need a knife or a cutter. We sat with him and chewed one ourselves. We also observed him for awhile to make sure he didn't choke since he was still under 2. At 2 years old, we increased the amount to a full bear (the serving size is 2 bears for children 4 and older). At 3 years old, we increased the amount to 1.5 bears. At 4, we will give him 2 bears. In addition to this vitamin, we give him fish oil (Nordic Naturals) regularly. Since he is a picky eater, giving him this vitamin along with fish oil gives us a peace of mind. Until our son can swallow a tablet, we will stick to this brand as we couldn't find an alternative chewable vitamin as of 2019. When he can swallow, we plan to switch to MegaFood's Kids One Daily.I will post this review on IntraKid's page as well since it is basically a comparison.

Best vitamin for kids
I purchased a small bottle to try out with my kids (4yr and 1 yr) after I had tried Dr Mercola vitamins. Kids liked the mercola vitamins but they were out of stock and could not order, so with preschool starting I needed an alternative for my kids. At first few days it was a chore to get them to take the vitamins but they did-I tried one myself and did not blame them as the taste was not so good. However, after a week, my kids began wanting and asking for their "bear vitamins". They now take them each day (2 tablets for my 4 yr old and 1 tablet for my 1 yr old)! These are the healthiest vitamins you can give your kids because they are from raw, whole, nutrient rich sources. My 4yr old use to have trouble with constipation and we would give her raw milk as that would help tremendously but since on the vitamins the raw milk is no longer needed and she is very regular now. She did get sick 1 time since her preschool started almost 2 months ago at the start of school and start of vitamin implemenation but only minor cold symptoms and only lasted about 4 days. This is a turn to better health for her as she would routinely get sick and last 7 days or longer sick. In fact now that she is in preschool she is being exposed to much more kid contact and germs than ever before and is holding up VERY well. I attribute it to getting a great high quality raw daily vitamin. Her baby sister continues to florish as well given the extra exposure to what sister brings home (although baby sister was already very healthy previtiamins). So based on our results using these vitamins for two months and seeing a vast improvement in our daughters overall health I would highly recommend them to all parents. Also, we don't give out daughters very much sweets at all and only a little bit of juice so maybe that is why it was easier for them to accept the vitamins taste.Lastly, you get a great deal on these via amazons subscribe and save which we signed up for and received our next shipment just before our current bottle was ending!*****UPDATE*****Kids Still going strong with these. Excellent product! Highly recommend!

Taste and texture is a NO.
Not tasty; chalky consistency. I don’t feel like we are picky about supplements- my boys struggled taking these and one of them gagged. I took one myself to prove they were being dramatic- the taste is blehh and I couldn’t get that (metalic-y?) after taste out of my mouth til I finally tongue scraped and brushed my tongue. I don’t want to waste money but they’re going in the trash. Such a bummer because the other things we’ve gotten from this company have been great.
