Nebulon-B Toy Review
I got mine in on 11/21/15. The ship looks good from across the room, but at a distance of 2 feet, you can see the so-so quality of the ship. First the ship is made out of a foam type material core with a plastic skin over it. Think of the high end foam cosplay swords, but with a plastic skin of 3 to 4 times the thickness over the foam core. The foam type core feels a little denser. Photo #1 is the box it arrived in. Photo #2 is the component parts which fits OK, some snug, some loose - I used a hot glue gun, as the material is accepting of it, and if you goof, you can easily separate the parts, scrape off the glue and do it again, without damage to he surface (it also fills any voids in any loose connections). Photo #3 shows the completed ship (about 1/500 scale from my calculates). Tip - the bottom engine fins are angled at 30 / 60 degrees. The other 2 ships are made by Star Wars Fantasy Flight games (they are all plastic, better detail, better paint, and half the cost if judging $ cost per volume of ship - eg., you'd figure the Nebulon-B should be more in the range of $125 to $150 for it's size/volume). In any case, Space Rocks is the only game in town for this size Nebulon-B, so you either want it (and pay) or don't. Q.C. sucks for the price - Photo #4 shows 2 cracks under the 2 front hull; Photo #5 shows bad molding on the upper front of the engine module; Photo #6 shows right engine cone edges missing, and flash on left mid-engine cone (plastic is thin, so don't want to cut into foam). Note - the clear stand pieces are not cut symmetrical (even though it looks symmetrical), so you have to test fit it, till it fits together, but it does fit snug together without the need to file.My Space Rocks (seller) experience: Order this 11 weeks ago (sent full Paypal payment). AD says shipping of item in 6-8 weeks. Sent 2 Emails requesting shipping status at 4 and 9 weeks - no response from seller. Filed Paypal dispute requesting refund (with Email to seller) - no response from seller. Filed Paypal Claims requesting refund (Email to Paypal), then the seller contacted me and offer item shipping in December, I said I need it sooner or a refund (the window on reclaiming funds was closing, can't wait). I think I jump the line, got it in a week. Even with the defects in the item, I'm just glad I'm done with this. Boo! For the seller making me go through all this, when they could have replied to my Emails on the schedule (I sent cash and not getting any replies for months is always a "bad sign"). If you got to have it, suggest you wait till the seller works through his backlog of orders.
