I love this backpack, I’m so glad I decided to give it a try. I need a new backpack because the one I was using previously put too much strain on my neck, back, and shoulders. As a student, I have to carry a lot of gear: multiple full binders, planner, notebooks, folders, laptop, supplies, etc. What I love about this bag is it is a little smaller than my last bag so it helps me only carry the essentials, but it still fits a lot. Also even when the bag is completely loaded up it feels comfortable on my back. The weight stays close to your back and is evenly distributed so it’s easier to walk long distances with a full bag. The padding on the back is the best I’ve ever had on a backpack and it’s one of my favorite features. I highly recommend this bag for it’s comfort and functionality. I would definitely purchase another one if needed, this bag is super sturdy.**For sizing reference I purchased the 25L. My last bag was 34L. Even with the difference in size my Herschel fits everything I need plus some. Also fit and height wise, I’m 5’11” and this bag sits from the top of my hips/ lower back to my shoulders. It’s a taller bag but the height helps a lot with pack weight distribution.

Tonight, I woefully spilled an adult beverage all over my old Little America backpack. So, I hopped on Amazon thinking, it's old, I'll replace it. Little did I know I purchased it on January 26, 2015. At the time I figured this was just a stylish, disposable fashion accessory. So, let me tell you where mine has been since 2015:16 countriesAt least 150 flightsWell over 1,000,000 car and airplane milesI've lived out of it for weeks in hostels, hiked, gotten it muddy, Smashed under luggage, boxes, you name it, filled it with books, put 3 laptops in the sleeve at once, tossed soaked clothes and towels in it, spilled any number of substances, taken it to countless beaches and used it as a pillow, propped my feet on it under airplane seats...I could go on. And it just holds up. After nearly a decade, NOTHING has frayed, torn, or come loose. Sure, the padding in the left strap is shot, the fake leather is flaking, the tag and striped liner are stained. But it just keeps going. At this rate, I think I'll just toss it back in the washer (yes, you can wash it in a bag) and use it for another 8 years. Thank you Herschel for making such a stylish, durable bag that I'll love for a lifetime.

I am honestly very pleased with what I received. I was really iffy about "wasting" my money on a really expensive bag, since I didn't really know what to expect just by looking at the few images amazon displays on the page. I heavily relied on the customer reviews and photos people posted (thank you, by the way) in order to make up my mind on whether or not I should buy it, or which color I should even buy. Suffice to say, This bag is very durable and looks much more visually appealing than i expected. With the red stripes in the interior, (which i originally thought was a turn off) it really compliments the black exterior of the bag, and the straps look very durable (not tacky at ALL) . The size measurements are very accurate and you can use my photos as proof. Although it is quite big on a 5'2" girl such as myself, it is able to 3 text books, a binder and a winter coat in it, with MUCH more extra space. Also, the back has very soft padding, on the arm straps as well, so it is very comfortable to wear for long periods of time, even if you are carrying a heavy load. There are two mini pockets in the sides of the interior to store small items, such as a phone, sunglasses, ect. In addition to the fur-lined laptop pocket, which can safely hold my 15 inch Macbook Pro. The front pocket is just a pocket, with a little key chain holder to hold maybe hand sanitizer or keys. However, the only con i should point out is that there aren't enough pockets. The front pocket is just a large pocket with no other mini-pockets inside, so this bag is highly recommended for people who don't carry many small items with them, or know how to use a purse or pencil case. I know the feel, being hesitant to order this bag since there weren't many details specified in the page that would've be helpful to know, or believing that the specs aren't reliable. So to ease your discomforts, I added photos that i took right when it got out of the box, including the measurements. Honestly, just buy it, it is definitely worth it.
