Bibilla Knotted Lace Flowers (Milner Craft Series)

Compared with the other Turkish needle crochet books I have, this book is a lot easier to follow with clear drawings. I have already made a couple of the satisfactory flowers. I understood better on how to make a stem tube by this book. I recommend this book for learning the needle crochet "Turkish Oya"."

As lovely as the flowers the author has created are, the basic directions are inadequate. There are three pictures of a tiny needle with thin thread making a knot...that is it. The rest of the directions are line diagrams of where to make the knots; however, since the knot itself is not marvelously clear, even starting a project is a bit daunting. Doing a google search of "oya knot" gave more help than this book. It actually looks like using single crochets in place of the knots would make these flowers faster and easier and in basically the same shapes. So, amazing pictures and ideas give this 3 stars, but as for actual basic directions, search the internet.

Order arrived quickly and I'm enjoying the book. It has fairly detailed instructions on making needle lace flowers with many diagrams.

Inspiring! Directions are quite clear, though it is a difficult lace for beginning lacemakers and crafters. Not for the faint of heart.

Much of what I love to create with fiber is dimensional. This book has already been useful in designing raised pieces as well as stump work that can be viewed from all sides. The flower ideas can be used in realistic ways. I've enjoyed using this book to incorporate a lacy look in my pieces.

This book is a mixture.The projects look great. The written instructions are detailed but very complicated to follow unless you are good at following such things - many of us are not!There are several areas where previous experience is required as the detailed instructions are missing.There are many photos but would have been better with larger thread being used which would be easier to see. Also, why use a blue background for a blue item? Makes it even harder to see!I've been able to follow the instructions and make quite reasonable flowers but then had to teach others who had difficulty with the book.So - nice projects but not for beginners!

Lovely book, Haven't started to make anything from it, but the instructions look good, and if I can actually reproduce the flowers they will be an amazing craft.Supplier sent wrong book, but once notified did send the correct one quickly

The book will make a useful guide when I have managed to get the technique of the knot to produce reasonable flowers

I haven't had time to use this book yet, but on looking through it I think it would be easy to follow the instructions
