A Delightful Array Of Chatacters
Lucas a written a wonderful plot of loves lost, friends and destinies found in the a green hamlet beyond greater London. Dotted with unexpected friendships, great characters, witty and life like dialogues you will enjoy the story of Daisy's fast new friends that show us the depths that make up, in turn, each of us.

Sweet read, great characters. A little strife, but all’s well that ends well! Well written. I enjoyed it very much!

It could have been better.
This was not a normal Rachael Lucas novel. It was heartwarming, but slow. Very chaotic at times. I put it down many times, and resumed it thinking, “it’s going to get better”. I finally finished it with a sense of resolve. I’m not sure if my resolve was that the storyline resolved or whether my reading was resolved.

Coming up Roses
Loved this book! I always appreciate authors who make me laugh out loud. Also no blatant sex details or language. Good character development and imagery. Makes me want to visit an English village!

Marvellous book
I am a big fan of Rachael Lucas' work, I've read all her books and I simply love them all. This one is so well written, the characters so real and warm, it transported me to a beautiful place. I think this is my favorite of hers so far. I can't recommend enough.

Light, frothy but hardly substantial!
This was a pleasant but not memorable read. The characters were fairly stereotypical and didn't really gel with me. I could also guess the ending almost from the start. It would appeal to someone who wants an undemanding read and doesn't want to be challenged with difficult or new ideas. That said, I wasn't tempted to leave it unfinished as I sometimes am!

Piacevole
Se vi sentite un poco malinconiche questo è il libro che fa per voi. Vi rasserena senza ingrassare, diversamente dal cioccolato.Parla di passione per la cucina e di giardinaggio, di amicizia e ha un lieto fine. Cosa volere di più?

I loved it!
English through and through, I loved it.Easy reading and entertaining. Could get a little boring but it doesn't. The reader can almost smell the garden scents thanks to the writer's botanic knowledge.Rachael Lucas has the ability to move between moods, situations and characters as only a modern "Mum" can and I am looking forward to the successor of this book.

I loved that book and its Christmas novella sequel so much ...
Disclosure: I was sent a copy of 'Coming up Roses' for review purposes, but the opinions in this post are all my own.Rachael Lucas is a friend of a friend, and I bought her first book 'Sealed with a Kiss' when it was first published in Kindle format. I loved that book and its Christmas novella sequel so much that I was thrilled to see that she was publishing a second novel this year. But part of me wondered whether I would love it as much as the books set on the remote Scottish island of Auchenmor.I needn't have worried because 'Coming up Roses' is every bit as good as 'Sealed with a Kiss'. Rachael Lucas has chosen an English country village setting for her new novel, and I wanted to escape there just as much as I wanted to move to Auchenmor. In 'Coming up Roses' Rachael Lucas has created an idyllic setting where I was more than happy to lose myself for a few hours. Daisy soothes her broken heart with hours of hard work in her parents' garden in the village of Steeple St John. Initially she wants to be left alone but as you might expect, things don't go to plan and steadily she gets drawn into village life. She makes friends along the way but some of them are not what they seem, and her new-found friends Elaine and Jo have their own problems to deal with. All of this is pretty much what you'd expect to see in a romantic comedy novel but this novel is far from predictable. The plot of 'Coming up Roses' still managed to keep me guessing right up til the end.The main trio of characters were all believable and likeable, and I quickly grew to care about them. I particularly enjoyed the fact that Elaine is a lifestyle blogger, so there were little references along the way that made me laugh. Oh, and the food! The characters enjoy lots and lots of food along the way, and it is all described in mouth-watering detail.I loved 'Coming up Roses', and it is a great illustration of why Rachael Lucas has quickly become one of my favourite authors in this genre. This is just the kind of book that I would happily load onto my Kindle before a long train journey or a summer holiday.A charming, light-hearted read that you will love if you are a fan of the genre
