John The Duke Wayne on Blu-ray amazing movies actor quality love it

Otaku John here to review another great DVD pack of the Legendary "Duke", John Wayne. My brother got me hooked on Duke movies as a kid, watching them on TV back in the 70's-80's, then buying them on VHS, DVD, and now Blu-ray. This 3-pack has 3 of the Duke's most famous films, and probably most critically acclaimed to boot. The Searchers. 'nuff said. If you're any kind of a classic movie buff, western fan, or John Wayne fan, then you probably already own or at least seen this film some time or another. It's basic film study 101 at any film school in the country, it's that well-made. Could arguably be the best western ever made from a true artistic standpoint. On Blu-ray it really shines. Next, we have "The Green Berets". It's one of the few, if only films to be made about the Vietnam Conflict, during the Vietnam Conflict. It's gung-ho Americana at its best, and realistic in a lot of ways. If more people would've watched this film during the 60's, and seen what the Communist Viet Cong were doing to the Vietnamese people and our brave and valiant U.S. Soldiers, then perhaps they would've supported our troops more during this Conflict, and our brave men and women wouldn't have been so shunned upon returning home. This movie inspired generations of young men to vie to become one of the elite "Green Berets", including my Brother, I'm proud to say. God Bless John Wayne for all he did for America. The last film is the Cowboys. To be honest, I really don't like this one, mostly because (spoiler alert) Duke gets shot in the back by the cowardly rustler played by Bruce Dern. It's no way for an American Hero and Legend to go. But still, the film stands on its own two feet, and is the source of the famous Duke quote: "We're burnin' daylight." Just the Searchers and the Green Berets together make this a great value, and the Blu-ray quality transfer is excellent. I also recommend buying other John Wayne westerns such as: Rio Bravo, War Wagon, El Dorado, Hondo, and the Train Robbers. For Duke war films, you can't go wrong with: Sands of Iwo Jima, Flying Leathernecks, They Were Expendable, The Longest Day, Flying Tigers, Back to Bataan, and Operation Pacific. (Did you know that Duke was originally supposed to play the part of Major Reisman in the Dirty Dozen, but had to decline in order to film the Green Berets?) Can you imagine how excellent he would've been in that role in the Dirty Dozen? Don't get me wrong, I love Lee Marvin, I think he's excellent in the role, and the Dirty Dozen is one of my all-time favorite star-studded movies. But can you imagine the Duke in that role, fighting against the Nazis and kicking a** both on the training field and on the battle field? Wow... What a movie THAT would've been! Anyways, buy this, you won't regret it.

I enjoy collecting great actors from the past. This product gave me a variety of movies with a well-known actor. John Wayne. Undamaged and professionally preserved and packaged. A trustworthy company. I’ll probably order more in the future.

The quality of the disc is good. I was not able to get the captions to work. The menu didn't have the option on it.
