Good quality
Our experience with the dosa cast iron tawa (12 inch) is exactly as described, so we are happy with our purchase of this product. The quality is very good. It was pre-seasoned (as described) and also the weight of the product was good which felt like quality stuff.Just to share our experience, this is how we seasoned it before our first use to make dosa:1) we washed the tawa thoroughly with a mild liquid detergent with a sponge scrubber.2) After it was dried out with a cloth, seasoned the tawa by applying mustard oil on the entire surface (front and back of the tawa).3) Warmed the tawa on top of gas chulha until light smoke came from the oil. It was cooled for an hour and then kept as is for 24 hours.4) Next day, before starting to put dosa batter, applied about 1 table spoon vegetable oil on the front side of the tawa, let it to warm up on a medium flame. Once the oil was hot enough to give out smoke, sprinkled some water on the tawa surface and wiped out the surface with a cotton cloth.Note: On our first use to make dosa on this tawa, the dosas didnt stick at all on the surface and was coming out very easily after it was turning brown. However, we noticed that the dosa's were turning out over crispy, hard, and little dry.In our second use after a week's time, we again seasoned the tawa 24 hrs ahead using the same procedure as described above. This time, the dosas came out as we wanted - light brown, just about right crispy on the outside, soft inside, and not dry (well moisturized with right amount of oil).Few tips in case it might help:1. We washed the tawa post our first use with only plain water. No scrubbing no detergent.2. Since the home gas chulha'r are rather small, the heat doesn't spread out evenly on the entire 12 inch surface of the tawa. Let's say, only about 8-9 inch diameter area is uniformly heated on the tawa. So, we always make our dosas of about that diameter only (8 to 9 inch). If we try to make bigger, like 12 inch dosas, the centre part gets heated way faster than the rest of the area and it may cause the portion of the dosa to be un-uniformly (partly over and partly under-) cooked.

Very good, good dosas but very heavy
I decided to buy this after I realised that too much of non stick usage is bad for health. My mother has used this long ago and she has the experience on how to condition it. I followed her instructions. First wash it, apply good amount of oil and heat the tava. Apply some salt and rub it with a tissue. Make 2 or 3 small dosas to start with. Keep the flame at medium. The batter will be wasted and the first 2 will stick. Scrape out the stuck pieces with ladle. Don't use scrubber! Apply oil and try again. From the 4th dosa, it will start coming out very well. Gradually increase the size. After usage. wash with water and a bit of liquid dishwash detergent with your hand. Don't use Scotch brite etc. Next time onwards, you can make full diameter dosa, fried golden brown and crisp. I did all of the conditioning yesterday and made yummy dosas today. Once conditioned, it will last long. The batter also matters. Don't make it too runny. The only issue I found is that it is too heavy and touches the adjacent burner, so you can't use the adjacent one for something else while making dosa. Maybe go for a smaller diameter one if you think you'll have that problem.

This Dosa tawa is very good
The Highkind Dosa tawa was delivered on time ( in fact a bit earlier). The product packaging was really very good, which kept the product in very good shape and safe and also This Dosa tawa is pretty good.1. Real cast iron tawa - I see some sellers selling coated tawas in the garb of cast iron in local shops. This is real cast iron.2. Pre-seasoned - A big advantage. Seasoning is a tedious process if you have to do it on your own. This tawa is pre seasoned. Although, you will need to do a bit of seasoning for maintenance, it is not too difficult.3. Good shape and size - perfect for making dosas4. Good heat retentionOn a whole , it is very a good tawa and easy to handle with one hand. The size is exactly 12 inches. I would recommend this to anyone who would like to replace their non-stick with Highkind cast iron tawa.PS: After every dosa, it requires a brushing (as shown in the pic) and rubbing with half onion dipped in oil. You get perfect dosas once this is done and does not stick to the tawa. This one is perfect to make rava dosas which require a flat base.Go ahead, buy this. Worth the price. Real value for money.

DISSAPOINTED!!!!!!
Very disaapointed with the product.I had purchased a cast iron skillet from Highkind and it was so good i decided to buy this dosa tawa from the same brand but the tawa i got is not cast iron .It looked different but as i trusted this brand i threw the packaging as soon as i took the tawa out .Later while seasoning ..the tawa got burnt and while making dosa the sides doesnt get hot but the center part got burt in no time ..i am very dissapointed with Highkind and would never recommend their products .PPleasse dont go after the good review as they give cashbacks to the customers who writes good reviews for their products.

Excellent! Must Have.
You would not know how food cooked on cast iron tawas or pans are till you actually taste it. It is different and has a very different flavour than non-stick.For all those who think that cast iron vessels are toxic- please know that the teflon/duron on non-stick is toxic as well- and synthetic to boot. The tava is to be cleaned before use- the small manual lists out some ways to do it. You can see which method suits you. I cleaned using all 3 to be safe. And since then its been a breeze using this tawa. A little ghee/ oil and it is practically as good as a non-stick. Chapatis and rotis cook evenly, do not need a lot of oil, and are very tasty with the distinct flavour of iron pans.It is of excellent quality- single piece iron. But be aware- it is heavy, really heavy. You'll build your biceps, eat tasty and healthy- and enjoy this for many years.A full 5 stars and fully recommended,

Cast Iron Dosa Tawa
This product does not meet the expectation. Dosa sticks to the tawa and I was not able to use it even once.
