Stink: The Absolutely Astronomical Collection: Books 4-6

My son is on book 6 now and has thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of them. He has laughed so many times during this series. The humor is clean for the most part. There is a little bit of grossness sometimes, but what second grade boy doesn't enjoy a little gross humor?! This is his first chapter book series, and for second grader this at the perfect level for him. Most of the words are either sight words or words a second grader can sound out. After finishing the first couple of books his reading became much more fluid. He knows most words and can easily sound out anything he doesn't recognize. There is always a great story line in each book, and the length of the chapters are the short enough that he never complains. The illustrations are great! You'll see one about every 3 or 4 pages. I feel like they help paint the picture and leave the rest to the child to imagine as they read. Overall, great series! They sell them by the individual books as well, if you don't want to commit to a set initially (how I did it for book 1 through 3). Hope this helps, happy reading!

We love Stink Books! I have 2 little guys in second grade. One is a confident, fluent reader. The other has a processing learning disability that effects his reading. I love the Stink books, because the story line is fun for both boys to read. They are engaging and help reinforceme good values. My son who is struggling with reading gets to feel confident because he is reading a chapter book. The chapters are short enough he doesn't get overwhelmed. These books are a must have for anyone with young readers.

We bought this book 3 weeks ago, and I liked the books a lot.The book 5 is called Stink the solar system superhero. The part l liked are if they want Pluto the planet to stay in system or not.I also liked the 3 challenging things and they sound fun!They should have added in the story at art making a solar system painting project. The kids are going to laugh at the club names and the bumper sticker.

I was looking for easy chapter books for my 7 yr old son who is transitioning from picture books. These books are great. They are funny and he loves them. He loves to tell me the whole story after he reads them. He plans to read all of them in the series. He is up to book 7.Am glad I bought them.

I went out on a limb and got these for my son. For our homeschool, I have him read a chapter each weekday. Before we got these books, I had to fight him to do it. He hated reading. After I got these books, I ask him to read a chapter, and he does. No more fighting. He loves these books. I wrestled with giving these books a 4 star rating instead of 5 because of some of the “language” others have stated in their reviews. It is there, but as little boys, isn’t that what the obsess with anyways? Anything stinky and dirty? There’s no bad or underlying messages, just the word fart or butt every now I then. With the struggle we had before of reading, I will deal with it.

My 3rd grader is a reader and this is perfect for her reading level. She gets so absorbed in the stories that she tunes out everything else around her. It's wonderful to see her enjoy the story! I bought levels 1 through 8 and will soon be adding the 9th level. I highly recommend the entire series to parents who are looking for appropriate materials for their children. My daughter enjoys the stories, and I believe they are encouraging her love for reading, which should help with her academic development.

My son loves Stink. He needs books with humor and these make him laugh. As a mom, I like them because they are really funny, but not filled with potty talk. I wish they gave it a thicker and sturdier box for the set. The books are pretty jammed into a thin box, so it tears when my son takes them out or puts them back.

My son loved these, flew through them and asked for the next ones in the series. First chapter books he's really devoured independently.

This book series got my grandson reading like crazy! Highly recommend!

Just received these books, my 7 year old was very pleased having read a previously released book Stink and the solar system superhero. He can't wait to start reading to see what other adventures await.

Book arrived on time and as desctibed. My Grandaughter will love it.

Moving on through story time - excellent

This series is funny we read a chapter or two before bed and my 6 yr old laughs his face off. If course you gotta do the voices for him too!! Actually educational info as well as comical. My son learns cool facts about the things that interest stink and his clan best part, judy, stinks sister, is always popping up too!
