I was a little concerned about the strap, simply because I was disappointed by the quality of the strap included with the purchase of my Les Paul Standard from Gibson. The strap that comes with their high end guitars is a crummy bonded leather affair, but my concerns about this strap went away as soon as I felt it. It's made of well-conditioned and high quality leather, such that it feels "broken in" and soft straight out of the package.I played for a little while using the stock Gibson strap buttons and this strap, and it worked fine and I had no concerns about it coming off during play. It gripped the buttons pretty tightly, enough so that it was a bit of a pain to get off the guitar (which is good, it means it won't accidentally come off). That said, I like to store my guitar in its case when I'm finished playing so I installed some Schaller strap locks on the strap and guitar for ease of removal and a completely secure connection. When putting the strap lock hardware onto this strap I found I didn't need to cut the "dog ears" on the hole, since it was just large enough to accommodate the strap lock once you persuaded by tightening down the nut.One other concern of mine that was quickly alleviated was that the suede back of this strap would grab my shirt and never let go, tugging it around as I wore the guitar. I didn't need to worry, as it turns out. While the back of the strap is "stickier" and a little more textured than the front, it was nothing like some of the cheap suede-backed straps that stick to you like glue. It's grippy enough to hold my Les Paul Standard in place as I move around without holding the guitar, but still slips enough that you can adjust the neck without your shirt sliding all over the place.As I mentioned earlier, the strap was soft and flexible immediately out of the package. It just feels good in your hand, and it feels good on your shoulder too! As my guitar is a Les Paul, it isn't exactly the lightest option out there but this strap is still quite comfortable with the moderately heavy 9 pounder attached to it. The strap itself isn't padded, but it's comfortable enough for me without that.I had an issue where the stitching was loose upon arrival, due to Amazon shipping it in a 35" x 5" x 5" box with no packing material to keep it from flying around inside the box during shipping. This was definitely the fault of Amazon and not the manufacturer, because the thing would fall at least two feet every time the box was turned over. Amazon, for their part, made it right by sending me out a new strap, and this one is still plenty functional in the meantime. Not as nice as it should be, but it works well.

I'm glad I picked this up. It feels really premium and it's thick enough that on my LP I don't see a need for locking washers - it's not going anywhere. If you're going to have to constantly put it on and take it off (like to put it in a hard case, maybe consider that it will be somewhat inconvenient to do so.

This is a very nice, high quality leather strap. I bought this strap because oddly enough it is very difficult to find long guitar straps. It is as is all manufactures think guitar players are all 5' 6" tall or wear their guitars like Buddy Holly. I am 6'4" and don't sling it low like Slash, but just can't find a strap over 53 inches out there. This of course is worse if you are a bass player like me.This strap will stretch to 58 inches if you move the adjustment to the last hole. The strap is great and does the trick for my large Tacoma acoustic bass without making me look like dillweed. I really like it. The measurement at Amazon saying 33 inches long is inaccurate.

Got this as a gift for a friend who plays guitars. It does not come with strap buttons so you may want to order those if you don't have extra ones. The strap does have some padding and is made of leather. There was some very minor inconsistency's with the gold lettering, just enough to knock a star off. However my friend didn't notice and since he owns 3 Les Pauls he was stoked to receive this pretty high quality guitar strap. Especially since it goes very well with his worn brown studio satin guitar.

I am impressed with the comfort and quality on this strap, my old heavy tele is now easy on my shoulder.

I use it for a solid body Gibson Les Paul and still feels very comfortable when playing for a few minutes, but if you like to play for hours standing up then you might want to look for a padded strap. Of course this is because it is a leather strap and has nothing to do with its quality which is really good, it looks amazing and I love it, makes my guitar look 10 times better.

Super comfortable. Stays securely on my shoulder. Very secure on my guitars. I’ve purchased 3 of these for my Les Pauls and for my JohnnyA signature. Well worth the money
