I just finished this book. I have no words. I have NEVER read a story that was written from someones soul. His writing drew me in and I literally felt all the emotions he put in words. I am still reeling from the awe of it all and the love story ofLevon and Jake and Levon and Phia.This will be a best seller and one day we will be in the movies watching this heartfelt book come to life.Please pass on anyone that the book , story and his writing will take a piece of your heart. Thank You for writing this wonderful book.Looking forward to the next book. 💕

Levon is a story about love, friendship, pain and learning to walk through pain. This is G.R. Gentile's first novel but he writes with such command of his characters that you feel he has been writing about them for years. Gentile introduces us to his characters through effective character development. Levon is one memorable character who although I didn't always like, I missed him when the story ended. All the characters from Levon to Jake, to Evie to Ophelia experience immense pain, love and life. Gentile writes with such emotion and clarity I felt a sincere connection with each character. The use of footnotes, at first distracting, became more enjoyable and informative. They give the story more depth and they enable us to understand Gentile's thought process.Anyone who has loved and gone through a breakup will identify with this story. It's a wonderful view into a young adult's life and struggles while also observing the challenges of a grown man unable to move forward in life until he let go of his past completely.Read this book! It will make you look at your own life and encourage you to move forward. This is a great debut novel. I cannot wait to see what Gentile has in store for us next.

This is an incredible book filled with all that life and love have to offer, the good and the bad and everything in between. The author's writing style is fantastic, fascinating and intriguing, pulling us in and forward, keeping us constantly trying to tie things together. The characters are people you have known and would want to know. The story is an everyman adventure and unique all at once. I know that there an inside baseball story related to the some of the locations, memories and associations which only brightens the read. The use of quotes, poems and just plain stream conciseness takes the reader to so many places. It is simultaneously fiction and non-fiction about the subject of love and it overwhelms at times. I too highly recommend this amazing first book

Really enjoyed reading this novel. It was beautifully written and really made me understand how Levon felt. Hopefully G. R. Gentile will keep up the good work and grace us with another novel.

This book was a captivating read. Anyone who has ever has ever raised a teenager, had a love, been in love, fell out of love, has muddled through aging, been educated, loves to read, has wanted to make a difference, who wonders how people think, who has had mentor, is a mentor, would love falling onto a couch with this book. So much Life in the pages. Pay attention to it all. Everything means something.

I almost don't have the right words to describe the incredible journey Mr Gentile put us through in this amazing, wonderful, frustrating, emotional, poignant, heart breaking, heart warming, hysterical, historical, funny, sad love story. I've never really read a book before, complete with footnotes, that touches on so many fundamental aspects of life from such a refreshing and unique perspective. It really touches anyone who has loved or experienced heartbreak. I can't wait to read what may be next with these fantastic characters. This is a REALLY GOOD book.

An amazing book! It was one of those books where you love the main characters and want to hug them in real life on one page, but then want to slap them for choices made the next page. So much love was poured into this book and I couldn’t read it fast enough. Looking forward to the next book Gentile writes!

A heart-warming story of an unusual friendship told in a way allowing for the reader to connect with each of the characters. Highly recommend!
