A gas detector is a device that detects the presence of gases in an area, often as part of a safety system. This type of equipment is used to detect a gas leak and interface with a control system so a process can be automatically shut down. A gas detector can sound an alarm to operators in the area where the leak is occurring, giving them the opportunity to leave. This type of device is important because there are many gases that can be harmful to organic life. Gas detectors can be used to detect combustible, flammable and toxic gases, and oxygen depletion, etc. This type of device is widely used in industry and can be found in locations, such as on oil rigs, to monitor manufacture processes and emerging technologies such as photovoltaic. They may also be used in firefighting. Did not work at all .
Did not work at all , I even held it under my exhaust pipe for 15 minutes and got a zero reading. Sent back, money was refunded

Worked for us!
I bought this after a CO scare in my house to help with ease of mind. It takes 90 seconds to "warm up" which is a little annoying, but ok.The way I checked accuracy is not the most accurate way, but I think it works. I held the detector over a candle flame, my gas furnace, my gas stove, and then in bedrooms far away from those things. I got the expected results. Over all the burning flames I got readings and in bedrooms I got little or no readings. This eased our hearts and made us comfortable in our own home after our scare.

Piece of crap
Buttons didn’t work with regularity. It turned on, but then it wouldn’t turn off. The backlight button didn’t work 75% of the time. The instructions were worthless. Basically, I felt like this device was a danger due to its flaws. It’s a safety item, so it needs to instill me with confidence, not confusion.

DONT WASTE TOUR TIME LOOKING AT THIS POS
I PURCHASED ONE OF THESE BACK IN OCT 2020 AND IT NEVER HAS WORKED RETURNED AND NEVER GOT A CREDIT. I WAS OUTSIDE TRYING TO CALIBRATE IT SEVERAL TIMES AND IT WOULD JUST GO OFF AND READ 36-47 PPM IN THE OPEN AIR, REPLACED THE BATTERIES AND SAME ISSUE. CLEARLY A BAD SENSOR BUT NO RESPONSE FROM THJE COMPANY

Excellent product
Great product, tested on auto exhaust, and it works flawlessly. Will buy a backup unit to keep in house

Easy to use and affordable
Without a solid baseline to test against, it is hard to say how close the readings are, but with a lit cigarette close to the meter, it reads between 24 & 31 consistently. Next to a gas dryer burner it reads between 5 & 13 depending on the orientation of the the top of the meter and the burner. It responds fast, and seems very consistent. but it does count down from 120 (basically 2minutes) when it is turned on each time. I checked every gas appliance in the house several times with nearly no variation in the results. I am real happy with this little guy!

Not accurate
Not very accurate and susceptible to radio interference. I would not recommend.

Not impressed.
I’m not impressed and I question the accuracy. It constantly reads 0 then flips to 5-6 %. Is the 5-6% accurate? The instructions say it takes a 9volt, but it’s actually three AAA batteries so instructions don’t match. Also, every time you turn it on, it does a count down from like 130 backwards to 0 before it will power up. This makes it take forever to power up and not easy to use.
