My bad honestly, I needed a basic book of instructions/stitches as a reference when I was teaching some preteens how to embroider. This isn't that book. It has some instructions but it is really a very simple book of a skill building projects. nothing complicated, and age appropriate for young learners. BUT is it not a reference book, or a resource for basic instructions.

This would make a great gift for anyone who wants to learn how to embroider. I created a basket which included the book and supplies and gave it to an 11-year-old who has been wanting to learn to embroider. She was quite nervous getting started, so I spent some time with her to work through the first project, but now she's embroidering designs on jeans and other clothes. Recommend!

My nine year old granddaughter was very pleased to receive this book. She is happy to have a guide for enlarging her embroidery stitching capabilities so when we stitch together she is familiar with the techniques we explore.

I used it to help teach a children's embroidery class. The stitch instructions are clear, and the projects are appealing.

Bought this as a gift for my niece who I’m teaching to embroider. I love it, it’s very descriptive and has good pictures that show you how to do the stitches. Would definitely buy again!

Nothing to dislike about this book. A good variety of projects for my sewing students and for my grandchildren.

This is a good introductory book of embroidery stitches and includes some projects. As it is American, measurements are in inches and some terminology differs from that used in the UK but that does not detract greatly for UK users. Illustrations are colourful and clear.

Pretty good manual. A little unclear in places. The word 'Kids' in the title is a little deceptive. I would have substituted 'Teens' due to the book's complexity.

It was a gift for my 6 year old niece who has discovered the joys of embroidery.
