The Cure of Ars: The Priest Who Out-Talked the Devil

I absolutely love this book. It is written like a novel but stays true to the facts of Jean-Marie Vienney's life which I appreciate. It is a very interesting story and is short without missing too many details. Overall an awesome read for an adult or for anything 8+.

As Xavier reviewed it: it's a simple tale. The author didn't catalogue too many miracles; 1 or 2, as I recall. But I breezed rite thru it—a sure indication that it held my attention. A great book on the saints is the one on St Vincent Ferrer. In the 14th century, this 1/2 British 1/2 Spanish Saint was the equal (in popularity) of the Beatles in the 60s! It's amazing not more is written about this guy and the multitudes that used to follow him around like groupies.

This book is just incredible and inspirational. A very easy read and enjoyable for all ages (not just kids). I read it as an adult and bought an extra copy as a gift for our new parish priest.St. John Vianney is one of the best priests of all time and a great confessor. He had to overcome many hurdles in life to join his beloved ministry and his book is an absolute inspiration to all of us who need a little lift. This book clearly illustrates that God's plan for us requires our full participation and endurance. A must have.

I initially bought this book for my kids, but I picked it up and could not put it down! It is a very easy read and it is so incredibly inspiring. It is one of those books that really affects you and teaches you about humility, perseverence, and faith in a great way. Very few men compare to the Wonderful Cure of Ars and this little book gives you a good summary of his life during the French Revolution and afterward. It shows how he turned a whole town around and how he affected a large part of France. I am now reading the book to my 5 kids and they love it!!!! I highly suggest reading this book!

My son loves the Vision series! He rereads them all the time.

Nice book, perfect for my son to read for jr high religion and I ended up reading it too. Interesting life of St. John Vianney.
