Heavenly Foods

Practical recipes
A student of Sheikh Nazim's recommended this book after my husband raved about her carrot soup. It's quite expensive so think carefully before buying it. The authoress (the Sheikh's daughter) was raised in a house where guests were invited for food daily - and they came in droves. She learnt to cook good food in large quantities, the sort of nourishing food most people will enjoy. Most of the recipes are middle-eastern, with some from Chechnya and even one for French Fries. She does use a lot of vegetable oils (which are questionable from a health point of view), but I think it would be easy to substitute the oils with ghee or butter to make them more healthy.Throughout the book are little annecdotes and prayers from the authoresses life, which make it an interesting read.
