Hydronix SDC-45-1001 Whole House or Commercial NSF Polypropylene Sediment Water Filter Cartridge 4.5" x 10" - 1 Micron

I switched to these filters from the pleated media and the wound yarn type in the last two filter changes. These filters filter much finer down to 1 micron vs the others at 5 and 10 micron. I now use a 50 micron spin down pre-filter that traps all the larger particles in my well water before it gets to this main filter. Thes are doing a nice job and my water is crystal clear. I like the life and the cost of these and recommend them.

I bought this filter last year and have been happy. It has the best filtration specs, such as filtration efficiency and number of layers. Unfortunately it's not in stock at many retailers, right now, so the price went from $13 to $19. Therefore, this time I'm going to buy the slightly inferior Pentek DGD-2501 for $13.Water sediment filters are often rated for 2 or 3 months. But, I use this in a 2-stage system with the Hydronix CB-45-1001 as the 2nd stage. Since I use it only for drinking water, I change the sediment filter annually and the carbon filter every other year. The CB-45-1001 is rated for 20,000 ga. If I drank 2 ga/day, the carbon capacity would be consumed after 25 years. So, changing the CB-45-1001 every other year should be quite conservative.

Easy to install, works well with no well pressure loss. Looks like it may need replacing every 3 to 6 months for me

Great price, culligan sell them for $26 a filter. They last 2 months.

I installed this in an 18yr old whole house water filter to filter out any big chunks of gunk (ie: sand) before water entered the water softener.It fit fine in that old filter housing and 1micro filters out more than the 5micron one did.Plus, it was lower cost on Amazon than from any of the local home stores.

I'm on a well that has lots of sediment incoming. Most sediment filters are 30 micron, which is pretty large and lets a lot of 'gunk' through. These filter way more out and for a reasonable cost..

Quality is great! It is made in Taiwan, nice!
