Good bones.
The skeleton is carefully mounted in a nice and sturdy display box. You can easily open the plexi glass top and that can be disastrous for the fragile sample with small curious kids in the house so I'll try locking it down. The display survived both Amazon shipping and a trans Atlantic flight in a checked bag without shaking apart. Really good sized piece for a small museum.

Never seen someone so happy!
I bought this for my girlfriend who very much marches to a beat only she can hear. It was for her birthday, but it arrived way before its ETA and I was too excited to wait. When I handed her the box, the normal gift giving anxiety kicked in. I know she LOVES bats. I know she LOVES "odd" things, but the anxiety was there anyway. Then she opened it. I've never seen her more excited, more happy than that afternoon. The skeleton is so beautifully reconstructed and secured. The detail of the skull alone is mind blowing. And I can't finish this w/o mentioning the acrylic display case it comes in. It just makes it all the more beautiful and shows the specimen in all its splendor.ps I almost kept it for myself ;)

Excellent presentation, nice specimen
I bought this as a Christmas gift for brother... And you thought your family was weird :)It arrived packaged very well and in perfect condition. The specimen I received looked even better than the picture. I can't wait to surprise him with it, I know he'll love it.

Really cool and a good size.
Totally an amazing gift for my mom’s taxidermy wall, one of the legs was broken but that doesn’t bug me too much considering the bones were very thin.

Interesting for display, but species information is lacking
This bat skeleton is as advertised, and it is quite an interesting object. I purchased it for educational purposes, and I appreciated the small pamphlet that labeled the different bones. However, in some ways this product is not the best for education. For instance, I am curious as to how the species was identified and confirmed. This bat seems a bit larger than sizes reported for Japanese pipistrelle (Pipistrellus abramus). The body, as measured from pelvis to about the middle of the head (accounting for the head being display straight up) is 4.5 cm, which within the range reported here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_house_bat, but the wing length seems different. The article indicates a wing length of 3.2-3.6 cm, and as I measured along the bones from "wrist" to 2nd finger tip is about 9 cm. I'm not sure that I am measuring it the way bat scientists would.Pictures or drawings of the species (or even resources to obtain this info) for understanding the specific anatomical features of the wings and tail membranes would also be very helpful.I am happy to have a bat specimen, but would have liked more information with it, and information that allows one to know how the specimen was obtained would be reassuring.

The specimen is great but the case is TERRIBLE.
The specimen is great but the case it came in is terrible! The case is very cheap looking and smells HORRIBLE like rubber. This was a gift and I did not want to give it smelling like that so I removed the little rubber feet and it slightly helped the smell. The cover just sits on the case which sucks because you cant hang it up or set it on a shelf. I had to give the gift with a warning saying "be careful of the case" which kinda sucked.

THIS MAKES A GREAT GIFT !!!!
This was a gift to my grandson. Wow, what a hit. The quality is really nice. Everyone crowded around to look at it and marveled at how meticulously prepared and mounted the skeleton is. I would buy this for any adult.

HOW DID THE GET THIS BAT'S SKELETON?!
Does anyone stop to ask how these folks got this skeleton? Killing a bat?? NOT GOOD! Bats are essential to the health of our environment and are being threatened by disease and human development. Think twice before buying this sort of thing.
