Very fresh, very lightly salted delicious brazil nuts
My husband has been very into brazil nuts lately, but they can be hard to find locally so we decided to try ordering these online. He just eats a few a day, so we keep the bag in the fridge and the nuts still taste as good and as fresh as when we opened the bag nearly a month ago.I saw others commenting on the "salty" flavor, but I have to say in my opinion these are the LEAST salty "salted" nuts I have ever eaten. I think the description is accurate when it says it has a "hint of salt". I never monitor food sodium levels, but became curious and compared it to my favorite brand of salted almonds. My almonds have 180g of sodium per 28g and these brazil nuts have 100g of sodium per 28g. Generally when I eat salted nuts, I can at least see several small grains of salt, but I see none on these nuts (photo attached, I'm not saying this as a negative, just something I noted). So these nuts have much less salt than I'm used to, but of course it's easy enough to add more salt if you so desire! And if you're super sensitive to salt then search for unsalted brazil nuts, they have those too.All in all we are pleased - very fresh, very lightly salted brazil nuts that we would both recommend!

Cheaper- AND better quality- mighty crispy & massively nutritious!
FIVE POUNDS of Brazil nuts!?Well, I'm going to eat 'em anyway, esp as they're higher in minerals (well- higher in selenium anyway) than a lot of other nuts. May as well do so at less per pound, & not have to wonder who carrying them in the store these days. My local grocery stopped having them available as self-serve & went to prepacked everything.Eating a small handful of Brazil nuts daily adds the desirable Omega 3 fats w/o being too, too much. Kind of an odd lunch for some, but Brazils are good w small tomatoes, sugar snap peas, a tangerine, dates +/or raisins... Or chocolate!! My 45 minute drive home definitely benefits from having such energy-rebooting comestibles, too, without having to stop & get home even later, or divest my hard-earned scratch over to the Junk Food Forces That Be along the road...The unexpected & more important benefit, tho, is that these nuts actually are fresher, crisper, & a more enjoyable texture than those I bought at the grocery store (& that I've occasionally bought at the health food store that's just a little too far away) as well as my initial aim of being more affordable. I decided to empty the original packaging into a number of small glass jars, since it is going to take a few months to kill the whole 5 # bag. It wouldn't be a surprise if they remained fresh w/o repacking, however, as it is a thick, heavy-duty, strongly ziplocked bag.And now having written my appreciation for this purchase, my stomach sez it's time to eat some- Hope you get the mileage & satisfaction out of your purchase that I have.

AVOID these, they are horrible!
I should have listened to the other recent poor reviews. These were very oily, and the bag looked oily and dirty inside. But the real test was the TASTE, which was BAD! I tried a couple and checked several, they taste TERRIBLE, as if they were on the verge of spoilage or had something contaminating them. I was VERY disappointed because I had also purchased the Sincerely Nuts Hazelnuts and those were perfect. On the Brazil Nuts, PASS unless you want to buy them to toss them out...

Smart Buy
I have been buying my brazil nuts at War-Mart at $4.98 for a 5 oz bag. The past couple of weeks however they seemed to have run out, leaving me looking for another source. Initially buying Sincerely Nuts seemed more expensive, BUT after doing the math, the 16 oz bag is $12.99 that comes out to .81 cents an oz compared to .99 cents an oz for the kind from Wal-Mart. These do taste better too, so overall I am happy with my purchase. I try to eat 2 brazil nuts every day to help my thyroid function. Their selenium content also is a precursor to the production of glutathione and it seems to help immune function.

As advertised
These are as advertised. They are Brazil nuts. There is nothing super special about them that I noticed. I purchased them for the selenium, as supplementing with Selenium helps to reduce Hashimotos Thyroid antibodies. (Actually it does work...I recently had bloodwork done after taking Selenium pills each day for several months, and my antibodies, which had been somewhat high in the past, were down to almost nothing.).Someone complained that they were too salty, but I did not notice that at all. As a matter of fact, I really enjoy salty nuts and these did not seem very salty at all, so maybe they cut back on the salt after that review—who knows. I actually would have liked a bit of extra salt on these. They aren’t quite as good as the Brazil nuts you would find in a can of Planters mixed nuts. But they are still good and they taste fresh, and so I eat 2-3 per day to get my selenium intake and that’s more fun than taking a pill. Ha. I would buy them again.

Not Gluten Safe!
I really loved these Brazil nuts! They were tasty, fresh, and a good value! They are listed as Gluten Free. I’ve ordered them 4-6 times, usually ordering the larger bag. I have found the smaller bag to be fresher. This last time I noticed a sticker on the back of the bag that stated that they were packaged in a facility that processes wheat. I realized I was being contaminated and was itching. I have celiac disease and can react to the slightest amount of wheat. I had this issue with a different brand of mixed nuts….I did OK until I didn’t. I called the company and suggested they become certified gluten free. I assumed they were since it said Gluten Free on the bag and in their advertising. BEWARE!
