NRG Innovations Gen 2.0 Steering Wheel Quick Release Adapter 6-HOLE with Mounting Bolts (New Blue Body/Titanium Chrome Ring), NRG-SRK-200NB

I have an NA Miata that is setup for autocross and with the aftermarket racing buckets, the steering wheel made it very hard to climb in and out of such a small car. Bought this to adapt onto the existing steering wheel adapter and make the wheel removable so we could more easily get in and out of the car. WORTH IT! I know for some this is a status thing or a symbol, but for the functionality in a car with buckets, it 100% changes the game!One thing I would say, if you are like me and getting this to make an already installed aftermarket steering wheel removable, do yourself a favor and get the appropriate NRG short hub adapter...if you use this removable mount combined with a standard size steering wheel mounting kit you already had, you will have to reach for the signal stalk and it's just irritating. It's not a deal breaker, and it is by no means the fault of the seller/NRG, it was just an oversight on my part. I've been dealing with it for 5 years now and it still drives me nuts every time I drive it on the street and have to reach a little further for the wipers, headlights or signals. Eventually I'll pony up and buy the short hub, but that means taking it all apart and reinstalling, which I have just been too lazy to do...so do it right the first time. You'll thank me later.Installation is not difficult, just a little time consuming. Another thing to note, use locktite on all the screws. I didn't use locktite the first time I put it together and the screws started backing out and loosening a little later. I carried the hex key in the car and tested them before each time I drove, but after testing/tightening them a several times, I had to buy new screws cause the hex screws were starting to round. When I put in the new hex screws, I used blue locktite and they haven't backed out or had any issues since...so don't take shortcuts and just use locktite on the screws the first time.Great unit, solid build quality, well worth the money...PLEASE don't cheap out on a non-name brand removable steering wheel mount, just to save a few bucks. NRG has been doing this awhile and has a good reputation for a reason. You really shouldn't trust your life/steering to a non-name brand just to save a few bucks. It could literally be the difference between life and death.

Using on my Mazda Miata. Not a racer but I travel for a living and often leave my car parked at work or at an airport for a week or two. Nice to have an extra level of theft deterrent. Also helps with under-dash maintenance when the steering wheel isn't in the way anymore.

I used this and an NRG short hub to install a Momo steering wheel to my 2006 Jeep TJ.Combined the new steering wheel set up if 1/2 inch closer to the driver which is just what I wanted. Installation was straight forward but I did look up a YouTube video to be sure I was doing it right. The quick release is solid and sturdy with no play whatsoever when wheel is connected. Very satisfying bell “ding” when attaching.Great product.

Got one of these for my other car for added security reasons due to my car being flashyInside and out. The installation was fast and easy Delivery only took a few daysHow ever anyone looking to buy one and use one of these must know that this is a major modification to the car that not only alters the the cosmetics but alters the functions and performances as well. *please note that you WILL NEED an Steering Wheel Hub along with this quick release. also make sure the hub is for your car or truck and fits.one of the major issues with most cars when installing is the AIRBAG and HORN. if you do or did not buy a after marked steering wheel with airbag the current airbag will not be usable once installed. as for the horn most vehicles after the year 2000 will not need to be bypassed or re-wired. if any one needs a fast configuration on how to install the hub and quick release with working horn feel free to message me

I tried most versions of QR from NRG and the 200bk still has the cleanest look and feels really solid noMatter how many time you take your steering wheel off and on !

Very easy to install (I did purchase an NRG hub and steering wheel) and even easier to use. Just make sure you turn the steering wheel about 90 degrees after removing it from the hub so that the ball bearings are covered after you remove the steering wheel. Basically press the button, pull the steering wheel out and then rotate it 90 degress (or less) to the opposite side, then push on the wheel (it will not be properly aligned) and pull again. You will feel a thump which will cover the ball bearings and helpprevent dust or debris from getting in there.

The media could not be loaded.  This product came fast and was worth it. Makes the signature quick release ding. Feels sturdy and looks high quality. 100% worth it. The only thing to know before buying is You will need a hub specific to your your vehicle for this to go on, just search nrg short hub and your car brand after it. Installation can be done on your own as long as you got patience and the tools to do it. One of the easiest first mods you can do to a car.

The quick release is designed well and I don't see any kind of play happening for some time. There are 2 sets of large chromed ball bearings, set of 4 for top and 5 for bottom and springs are behind them pushing the balls into divets in the receiving piece. It's heavy built and seems strong, but we all know that it must be built well because if anything was to happen while driving the company could end up in a terrible lawsuit. So, strength isn't an issue at all. Not sure I would purchase another, just because the are so pricey. If I raced, then maybe I would have a purpose for one.

I'm buying more so I can change from my momo to nardi classic when in the mood with ease. Is a little tight where the copper disc slots into the steering wheel plastic covers on my mx5 na. Doesn't affect the horn contacting though so good.

Purchased the black quick release. The black model picture says 11 Years. The one I received did not :(I’m not sure if the one I received is a newer or older model.Can’t seem to contact nrg directly from here to verify.Still yet to install...

Easy to install and fun to use, makes the Ding sound and is easy to remove with one hand. I have it on my 2013 vw Jetta TDI with a momo tuner steering wheel
