Toysmith Mighty Magnet Set

We're having so much fun with this set (and a great price!). Like the other reviewer, I note that instead of 5 smaller balls there are 2 ping-pong size balls, but this was a benefit as I feel they are less of a choking hazard (and less likely to get lost). It is fun placing the balls on spoons and turning the spoons upside-down and seeing how the balls remain on the spoon. The magnets are pretty strong! The horseshoe magnets are surprisingly light. They aren't magnetic all the way around (I don't think) -- just at the bottom, but that was good for me as I don't want my baby to clunk herself with them. :) At 19 months, my baby loves this - and I can imagine an older child would get even more out of it. I had a ton of fun playing with them myself!

This is a very popular set in my library, enjoyed by the 2 and ups. With all the emphasis on STEAM these days, a simple little magnetic set like this should be a must. It's almost like a magic to the very young ones, and to the older ones, familiar with the action of poles, is like putting a pony through its tricks. Actually, I just wish there were more of it, like a deluxe version. I did add a bunch of pipe cleaners, screws and washers to my set up for experimentation. This is a very nice little starter set. The magnets aren't super strong, but they work well enough to demonstrate the point.

This is a good set of magnets for small children to learn about magnets with. These are not strong but do tend to work well with the pieces that come in the kit. These are inexpensive and a great starter kit. This is something you would expect to find in a science section of a hobby store. If you are an adult looking for a cool magnet set, pass this over. This is for a pre-k or elementary school setting.

This has a little of everything to amaze the minds of 4 or 5 year old children... Plus entertain them for hours.... It is great to see them get so involved and connected to a project...

I got these for my three year old - and the biggest draw was the price! They're incredibly affordable compared to other magnet sets!The best part, is they are not lacking on pieces or quality! This set is wonderful - I am not in the slightest bit disappointed!However, one small thing to note: Instead of five marble size magnet balls, we got two ping pong size magnet balls. Not a problem for us, but something to note!

The smallest magnets- the star and horse shoes are so anemic that they can only some times keep from sliding down the refrigerator under thier own weight. That's sad.

I bought this set for my three year old son who is learning about magnetic and non magnetic objects in school. I love that it comes with different variety of Magnets. I am only using the horseshoe and hand wand with my son. I put the other way for when he is a little older. Good price for all the magnets you receive.

Great set and enough pieces to be able to split it up between 2 kids whom both needed magnets 🧲 for their science Classes, my 3rd grader and Kindergartner both really liked them.
