I've been wearing these for well over a decade. I get a little over a year out of a pair, with daily use in all kinds of conditions, including lots of water and mud. The soles don't last as long as harder compounds, but the trade off is comfort and a much more flexible sole. The water proofing holds up very well. They're warm in the winter, but not so much that you can't wear them year round.

Great boots, took two days to break in

These are the best boots I have ever owned. After my old L.L. Bean boots wore-out I purchased these. I have walked through two feet of snow, six inches of water, mud and everything thing else. These boots have stood up to all the elements and my feet have always been kept dry. These are excellent boots and worth every penny. If I could give them six stars, I would. I've walked as much as five miles in them and had them on for the better part of a twelve-hour day. They are comfortable, durable, and built to last. They do take a while to lace all the way up, but they feel so light once they're on.

Worn these boots for years very comfortable

I have been buying and have owned Red Wing, Irish Setter boots for 56 years. The style has changed a little over the years, but this is still a quality boot. I have been an avid hunter, fisherman, and camper all of my life and you can't find a more comfortable boot to wear. The sole design on the Irish Setter has a plus and a minus. The plus is it does not pick up sand and mud to track into your home or boat. The minus is it does not have a good grip while walking in mud or snow, so you might look for another style of Redwings for these activities as I have. I bought these with the 400 gram insulation for winter and they are perfect for a normal winter if you are active.

Buy these boots for hunting, working, going out on the town. Most comfortable boots you will ever own. Like wearing tennis shoes right out of the box.

Bought these to replace an 4 year old irish setter insulated boot that I just loved.Love the soft leather and comfortable sole. Ordered a half size bigger; my foot has grown, and the same width that I have worn for years. These guys run big in length and width. A size down is too small so I added a pad inside the boot to get the same kind of second skin type of fit my old pair had. The pattern they used has changed from my old pair. Love the boot, maybe 2 pair of socks would have done it too.

I wear as a casual boot around town… excellent built , little break in time, warm, waterproof.-30c ? Not a problem for 2 hr long dog walks.
