Nice book, not well represented
The price was good, the book is very pretty inside...the packaging was horrible...a single bubble envelope and no padding what so ever. Wont buy from again....I have a large rpg collection and almost ashamed to have this in it!Think I am going to stop buying from Amazon. Very dissatisfied again!

Even if it's just to read...
Wow! I regret (sort of) missing the kickstarter on this. But kickstarters can be a huge waste so I'm not beating myself up over it. Anyway.I'm middle aged with a full time job and when I do get around to gaming, which is about once a week we usually play something more miniatures based. I just didn't figure I'd have room for this game, and I don't. Not to play it at least. But! I haven't put it down for very long since I've opened it up and it's just amazing! Even just to read it I love every little corner of the world and character and faction and power and all of it! It's simple where it should be and detailed when appropriate and all in all fantastic imagination fuel.Does it borrow heavily from other places? What doesn't? Without wolfenstein 3d we wouldn't have call of duty and that's just how things are. Veteran gamers might find reflections of mage the ascension or planescape among others, and this is good. It's well done and never does it blatantly rip anyone off or steal anything. But the inspiration is definitely noticeable. So I will continue to carry my fun little (actually kind of large) book around with me and read little snippets here and there while getting my oil changed or fixing dinner. And maybe one of these days I'll actually get a group of my buddies together and run a game, even if we don't technically have time for it...

Black Void Delivers on Both Style and Substance.
While many take the easy road of using 5E or the PBTA as a rules engine, Black Void relies on its own rules system to deliver its bizarre, tales in a very different world, well worlds really. Black Void delivers on both style and substance. Many new game systems and settings are interesting but the finished product is often marred by weak art, but the Black Void RPG is an exception. Well done.

A Beautiful book.
The art work is beautiful and the content is written very well. I really enjoy reading it and can't wait to play.

Genuinely Unique Fantasy Setting
Black Void is an a beautifully realized rpg setting and perfectly workable ruleset. The art is high quality and the book is laid out in a way that makes sense. Here is how the game and book parse out for me:Pros:*Truly different fantasy setting with tropes and tone similar to the work of Clark Ashton Smith.* Fantastic world building.* Interesting melding of typically science fiction tropes that are retooled to fit seamlessly into a fantasy setting.* Different take on magic that uniquely fits the setting.* Enormous growth potential. The world is set up in such a way that they are wide open for expanding the world.* Beautiful and evocative art.Cons:* Some of the smaller art pieces are a tad amateurish and not in a way that enhances the art.* I am reticent about some of the rules (full disclosure: I have only read the book and have not played yet. This point might change for me after playing a session)* High concept in a way that it may not appeal to all tabletop-rpgers, especially if they need classic fantasy tropes to dominate their game.

An Endzeitgeist.com review
My review is too detailed to fit on amazon, but you can read an in-depth analysis on my homepage. (See header - can't link directly, alas.)tl;Dr: Stunning, evocative and genuinely novel setting; rules offer depth and meaningful choices galore, but sequence of presentation requires copious amounts of page-flipping to get how the game works, and there are some issues in the details in an otherwise very interesting system.Endzeitgeist out.
