Jesus-Centered Bible NLT, Charcoal Imitation Leather – September 1, 2015

i just got my Jesus-Centered Bible today and i Absolutely Love it! the blue-lettering in the old testament along with the reframing Jesus information boxes are really helpful in understand the correlation between verses spoken by, relating to, or pointing towards Jesus from the Old to the New Testament. the pages are a bit thin/see-through but, not really enough to cause a substantial hindrance to whatever page i'm reading on. i Definitely recommend this bible to anyone who wants to a bridge form from the Old Testament to the New Testament and that the bridge is Jesus. one of the coolest things about this new bible is that it has a Huge Dictionary/Concordance in the back. it's probably the biggest one i've ever seen and i have over a dozen bibles so, i would know lol. it's definitely very expansive. it gives a brief definition of each term/phrase and then it lists all the passages where that particular entry is found. it's Awesome. Honestly, there are way too many features to list here but, i Highly encourage you to get this bible and check it out for yourself. you will Not be disappointed. you'll see Jesus in a whole new, amazing, light. i'm still digging around through the bible myself, looking more and more places where the two testaments tie together by the thread of Jesus. Again i say: Get This Bible. you'll be Hooked.

Great resource for Jr. and Sr. High students.Pros:I loved the fresh way they approach the OT with the blue highlights. This is what sets this aside from other Bibles. As a youth minster one of the big things most of my students struggle with is seeing the relevance of the OT. This is an amazing tool to help them understand where it fits in the larger scheme of God's plan for us.The devotional type material throughout are all pretty great. I love the way the Bible uses questions at the center of many of the NT pages.Cons:I have not read the entire thing yet, but in what I have read I have found a few formatting mistakes. For example, Gen 1:10-12 the verse numbers are formatted large like the text. In Gen 3:6 there is a space between the o's on the word too. I am being a little nitpicky... but it shows some sloppiness that I wish they had taken the time to fix. Maybe I am a little OCD.I also am not a HUGE fan of the NLT translation, but that is purely personal and really doesn't influence the overall rating for the product.Conclusion:Great resource! I am excited to see if the blue letters catch on in other translations. The only reason it did not get 5 stars is because of some of the sloppy editing. Hoping they can make those corrections for the future editions.

Love this Bible - I have 8 other bibles, and can never seem to find the perfect one! However, this one is my go to Bible. I noticed that (1) person who gave it (1) star pointed out; they didn’t like that a word was not correct, (really)! The NLT and many others are not a word for word translation from the Greek, however, the ease of reading makes all the difference to me! The words of Jesus didn’t change because of this translation! Therefore, since I not sitting at some desk looking at scrolls and deciphering the words directly into English, I’ll still make this (not perfect) translation be my go to Bible! If you’ve ever tried to read a direct Greek to English translation, then you’ll understand my meaning! As for me, I’ll use this one for church and save the Greek to English translation for a time when I’m really concerned about a particular meaning/wording! Which by the way, is not very often, because, I gotten beyond that point after 50 years of studying the word of God!!

I bought this bible because I have been seeking a closer relationship with Christ. I have struggled with reading the Old Testament because of my perception that Jesus isn't really in it, but man was I wrong. There are several areas throughout every single book of the bible that reference Christ, and this bible points it out to you! I have never been so excited to read my bible before! I am through Genesis so far and I am loving this, the writers even include strategies throughout on what to pray about and how to meditate on the various subjects presented. Even though I wish this was in ESV, the NLT is even clearer to understand what is being read which is good as this is the first time I will be reading most of the OT. I am in leadership training to become an Elder/Leader in my church and this is going to go a long way in strengthening my faith and knowledge in Christ! Highly recommend!

Good Bible! I like blue print pointing to Jesus. The translation is pretty modern and easy to understand. I'm not a native speaker of English, but I didn't have a single problem with this translation..Things I didn't quite like:-- pages are thin, pretty transparent, and fragile..But I understand that probably it is expected of such a volume; still I have some earlier Bibles of similar size with thicker pages..-- there's no maps at the end at all-- even though the cover feels good, it's not leather\-- not compact, pretty big and heavyApart from these minor drawbacks, it is for sure worth buying this Bible

New new favorite Bible for study and learning. I love the Jesus-centered movement and ideas, and this Bible is great for reminding me in EVERY book and EVERY chapter that all of Scripture is about Jesus. The notes are easy to read, the translation is great, and the style is good, too. Pretty color, flexible cover, and I'm happy it's faux leather (instead of being made of someone's skin).

Bought for my daughter who had seen this Bible at her church's youth group and thought it to be a really good way to see the prophesy of the old testament come true. This is one of those "why didn't they think of this a long time ago?" type of things. Printing in red in the NT for Jesus' words has been around for a long time, but this takes that idea to the next level!

I for one am a born again Christian, growing up I was always surrounded by Christianity but was never encouraged to pursue a life with Christ. In the past two years I have wanted to connect my self with Christ but never really found a way that I felt confident and comfortable doing. Upon researching for my first ever adult bible I came across the Jesus-Centered Bible and was immediately drawn in. The blue lettering is a revelation within its self. Helping me to understand more about Christ and his involvement right back to the creation of man in the Old Testament. With in being the NLT version and me not being much of a reader it's portrayed in such a simple way I just can't seem to it down. All the little added extras really help answer questions you may be asking your self and help relate certain situations of the bible to real life experiences. On top of it all, it's very smart looking and feels great to hold. I can't wait to share it with my friends and family. And, if you're looking for a book that has it all then the bible is the one for you. I would recommend this bible to anyone and everyone. Thank you so so much.
