Edge Tape is for covering the edges of plywood and other non-wood edges and surfaces that need to be nicely finished. Common uses are for furniture and cabinetry, but edge tape will adhere to nearly any type of surface. All edge tape has a heat-sensitive glue backing and applies quickly with an iron.

Great for projects with oak plywood
Nice. A bit oversize for 3/4" plywood, which is necessary. Used it on my cabinet projects and it worked well. A big roll is always good to have - buy a small roll with just enough for the project and you're stuck if something goes wrong. I have not tried this on compressed wood.Preparation of surface is a very good idea - surface needs to be fairly flat or curving gently. Some sanding with fine paper is a good idea.Put it on with preferably a little overhang on both sides.Be aware when ironing that the whole thing can shift, so continually check starting point and edges.I iron flat down with mild pressure, then tilt the iron a bit to one edge, then the other, and then straight down again for best adhesion. You can usually remove and reposition a few times if necessary by heating and peeling off. Then I use a couple of passes with a double edge banding trimmer to remove the excess, and Exacto knife, file, wood chisel or just sanding to remove material in areas the trimmer doesn't reach. For the ends, measure a little beyond where you want it and once in place, cut flush with sharp instrument. Some gentle fine sanding while not always needed, gives it a nice finished touch. The edges might need some sanding - something you get some glue at the edge.

Amazing, Seemless, Simple.
Probably the best edging tape I have ever used, and to say that it's a better choice than anything out there at Home Depot or Lowel's would be an understatement. I purchased it to finish many Oak Veneer furniture projects for a new add-on room and they turned out amazing. Goes on easy with an iron and only takes 2 slow passes. The best thing about it is that, after trimming and sanding, there are no seems at all. I have finished all of my 7 projects and have a bunch of my original roll left, however, I had to reorder to make sure I had enough for future jobs.

good stuff
This is the first roll of this that I've used after using the equivalent Freud product several times. The two seem to be nearly identical: this one has the same appearance and qualities, the hot melt adhesive appears to hold as well, and the price is much lower. Stain appears to adhere as well and the finish with oil based wood finish (Penofin clear, which looks superb) is very satisfying. Shipping from the vendor was very fast, and the banding was packaged securely in recyclable materials. If this items continues to be sold by Amazon, I will purchase additional rolls.

Great Buy
We use this in our shop for edging of course. It irons on easily with any iron (you don't have to buy a fancy expensive one) It costs a small fraction through Amazon in this big roll compared to the local supply houses that sell it in small amounts for large prices.

Red Oak Edge Banding Tape
I have purchased two rolls of the Red Oak Banding material. We own an upholstery shop, and we used it to clean finish some booths that we made in the shop, after trying a few different methods of installing this product, we found by using a roller made from wood and a heat gun. We had very good success in applying this product. We also set it on so one edge was all that was needed to trim; we did purchase the trimmer made for this product, and we found with a little effort we had good success getting a nice clean edge. We did need to inspect all the edges and in some cases reheating it to get a perfect application. After applying about 500' of this product I can say I would purchase it again if I have another job that needs a finished edge.Chris ErwinSouthside Upholstery and Auto Trim

Oak Wood Edge Banding Tape
This product worked really well. I had no problem installing it and so far it seems to adhere really well. When sanded and stained, it truly makes 3/4 inch oak veneer plywood look like solid oak.
