SamaNWaterbased Dead Flat Varnish SAM-801 – Protects Decorative Surfaces (500 ml – 16 oz)

We used this product to seal our new reclaimed wood dining table from Restoratoin Hardware RH. I had a short freak-out when it looked like it turned the table purple….but it dried perfectly clear. No change in color or finish on the table. We are very pleased with the result. For information, we did one coat on the pedestal, and 3 coats on the tabletop.

Great water base sealer that doesn’t change the flat stain I wanted to maintain. Used a couple of coats on small stained table in my patio and it’s held up wonderfully. Also used it on small painted yard art that’s exposed to water and sun. It’s done really great so far in its protection.

So far very happy with the product. Used to protect a RH coffee table. Applied easily with a small foam roller. Low odor. Easy to apply. Good coverage. Product has a faint white color but dont worry it dries clear very quickly with no sheen or discoloration. It literally looks like I did nothing which is 100% what I wanted.

I have mixed feelings about this product. It does something for sure, but since it's water based it comes off easily and you cannot thicken it. I've tried using over latex wall paint so that my dog isn't able repeatedly scratch through and it helps, but not as much as I'd like.I also used on the kitchen formica counters where it is impossible to get thick enough without days of air drying and no way to coat cleanly. So you either live with reapplying it every six months or you put in on without the nice appearance and let air dry for a long time and then live with the unsmooth coating. I

I just covered a statue I was working on with this varnish, and it applied easily. Easy to see where you had applied it vs not. And dried to a perfect crystal clear coat with no glare/reflection. Just like I wanted.

I follow the directions on the package but the product doesn't work. I tried multiple coats and it doesn't work. When washing the table, the stain is removed leaving discoloration on the table. I don't recommend this product.

Great varnish. Very flat. Doesn't look like there's anything on piece. Great effect.

THIS IS AN EXCELLENT FLAT FINISH; VARNISH THAT CAN BE USED OUTSIDE, AND DOESNT FLAKE OFF. ALSO WEATHER RESISTANT, i USE ON ON WOODEN BOWS. NO SHINE, AND IS DURABLE

I've always liked SamaN products so I knew this one wouldn't disappoint me either. I used it to varnish my freshly painted kitchen carts which get a lot of use as I store all my heavy pans and pots on them. It's been a month now and after two coats of this varnish, there are no scratches on the paint.It's super easy to use and it goes on like a charm, it doesn't have any chemical smell and it dries matte - which is exactly what I wanted.ALL IN ALL, I really recommend it and if you are on the fence - BUY IT, you won't regret it!!

Can’t rate “easy to use”, “easy to clean” nor “durability” because I didn’t get a chance to test out the product on account of most of it being in the form of a big white chunk that floated above the remaining liquid. Will be returning it.

This is my second bottle. It can be applied easily with a good sponge. I usually apply 2-3 light coats on busy surfaces. No streaks. No sheen. I've used it on several pieces of painted furniture both navy and light & white. I have not seen any yellowing. Good product.
