Overall, it's a beautiful knife that I'm very happy with. However, it just doesn't feel like the one I carried back in high school in the 80's. I'm pretty sure that one was surgical steel with blade that cut like a scalpel. I also wanted a marlin spike, but I'm not seeing that in any of the current offerings. I guess people today just don't know how to use rope anymore. I still have my original somewhere, minus the corkscrew which was the one implement that broke. The nice thing about this model is it has everything you're going to use the most. More features are nice, but these knives become unwieldy pretty quick, and you don't want to walk around looking like you've got a railroad spike in your pocket. The implements are well machined and fitted, in addition to being polished to perfection. This is a true gentleman's knife. One that I'm proud to have around.

If Amazon can get you one intact, then this Victorinox Huntsman is excellent. Victorinox never disappoints. Very durable and versatile knives.I have ordered two of these Huntsmans; one for me and one for a gift.One got here intact and was packaged in a box with some padding. I have already been using that one, so I can't gift it.The other one was packaged in a paper envelope with zero padding and was crushed, both scales broken and the knife is slightly twisted. You can't see the twist in the pictures as it is slight, but you can see parts of where the scales are broken. It takes quite a bit of force to damage a Victorinox like this one is; so what exactly happened to it in shipping?A replacement is supposedly being sent. I will update when the replacement gets here.Good thing I opened it to check it.The bad part, I needed this for Nov. 27, '23, for a 75th birthday gift, but the replacement will not be here until at least Nov. 30, '23.1. I'm going to be the only person at this celebration without a gift.2. I will have to drive a four hour round trip a second time to deliver the gift in person when/if an intact Victorinox Huntsman gets to me.Strong suggestion to Amazon. Stop using ridiculously poor packaging for items that can be broken in shipping. This isn't the first time I have had to return items for replacement because of shipping damage due to Amazon's poor packaging. I have to drive 30 minutes just to take a return to the UPS drop off.Package stuff properly to begin with and it saves everyone (including Amazon) money and time.

Out of the many choices of this brand, one of the best, with more choices than I can count, this was the one that I gave my Son. Durable, with enough utilities to get the knife needs, done. Now he is set for the Apocalypse. This thing will do almost anything, including pick your teeth! Saw, snip, rasp, file, poke, open can and bottles, why this here Swiss Knife even has a sharp blade for whittling. Happiness is a good knife. We are happy.

Like every other SAK, this is well built and comes in handy when you need to do some MacGyver’in.

Bought 1st one back in 2010 and kept purchase same model 7 times while forgot to keep in check in luggage and confiscated by customs. I have now kept one in desk drawer and one with me all time.
