SunButter Organic Sunflower Seed Spread, 16-Ounce Plastic Jar

I am allergic to almonds and was looking for an alternative to peanut butter to add as a staple to my pantry. I was pleasantly surprised by its flavor! I do eat sunflower seeds but have never tasted its butter, so I didn't know what to expect. It does not taste exactly like peanut butter but is very close in taste, and consistency. It is also very filling. I am on the Keto diet and wanted to mix it up a bit and have more choices for breakfast other than eggs. I believe this butter with a little home-made Low Carb Chia Seed Cherry or Strawberry Jam slathered on a low carb slice of bread would be delicious!

My daughter refused to eat this because it tasted so bad. I thought she was over reacting, but she was not. We've purchased the non-organic type of sunButter before and it was delicious., so I'm not sure if its the switch from regular to organic - which it totally shouldn't make a difference. I only ordered the organic because it was prime and the regular type was not available. I figured organic should taste even better. I was very disappointed. I saw someone else have a comment about the bad taste, so i'm not sure if it was a bad batch, but, i wasted my money.

I found out later in life that I was allergic to peanuts and, I grew to miss peanut butter on crackers, PBJs, etc. I have tried a variety of nut butters consistent with my allergies, and I have found SunButter to be the closest replacement to actual peanut butter. I have tried other brands, and this is the best sunflower seed butter I have used.My only complaints are that the oil and base tend to separate creating inconsistency in the thickness and the ability to spread the product is negatively impacted.Overall, I will be using this as my primary peanut butter replacement for the foreseeable future.

I love the fact that Sun Butter is still selling this allergen free sunflower butter. I hope they keep this soy-free type, along with also avoiding cross contamination with gluten, milk, eggs, fish etc. Apart from making sun-butter myself, this is the only sun-butter I have found I can tolerate due to my extensive food sensitivities. I love the taste, and often enjoy it on sliced apple or on a stalk of celery or a rice cake. It really hits the spot as an excellent snack. It is also something I can easily take with me in an emergency situation to a location where I otherwise would have very little to nothing I could eat.

I saw a recipe called "Sun Butter Fat Bombs" that I wanted to try, because I wanted to try something new and low carb. This Sunflower seed butter and cacao are the main ingredients with flavor, and I really liked it. I made the recipe twice in one week. The Sunbutter by itself is soft, easy to spread and tasty if I decide to lick the spoon. It didn't separate into hard and oily layers.I have to keep it away from the kids due to the cost (guilty feelings about that) but I will order it again when I run out.

The product is available as pure sunflower seed or as one with added sugar and salt. I like both. Makes a great sandwich. After Costco dropped Sun Butter I made a big mistake and bought David from Conagra. David is heavily salted unshelled sunflower seeds. The seeds are tiny and it would take all day to get enough to keep you alive. Be very grateful that Sun Butter does the job for you. A final word for the programmer who wrote this editor program for Amazom. I hope he has a quick trip to hell.

Allergic to peanuts, have no problem with sunflower. Doesn't have exactly the same taste as peanut butter, but is very tasty on organic 'Ritz' style round crackers so I don't even miss the peanut taste. Also works for making delicious peanut blossom cookies with the kisses in the middle.

I LOVE this stuff! It took a minute to get used to, as it does not have any sugar, but that is why I bought it in the first place. My husband and I were doing a program that prohibits sugar and we grew to absolutely love the taste of this SunButter. We even continued to buy this product after our program was over. It's pricey, but even my husband loves the flavor.
