Not worth the money
Bought for my grandson. After playing with it 3 times the paint on Lightning McQueen started to come off in different places on the red paint. Not worth all that money.

Two Stars
Way too expensive.

Grandson loved it
I purchased these cars for my grandson's 4th birthday at the request of his mom, who was getting him the actual color changers car wash. The order was received promptly. About the only thing that surprised me was that they were so small! Since I was not familiar with the product at the store, I had no idea they were so small. The price (which has come down since my purchase) seems a bit high for the size of the product. My grandson loved them, though. Can't weigh in on the durability, though, since he just got them, and the educational value seems pretty small.

Works, just takes longer
The cars do change colors. Just not instantly. In about 2 hours they were of different color. Though a bit annoying for me, my son (4.5) was so excited, that it was well worth the $15.

color changers
Wow, you should have seen the face on my son when he saw Lightnin' McQueen and Chick. The stuff was pricier than I would want but it was worth my sons face. His big sister is playing with the cars too!

Paint Chips like crazy
My son LOVES Dinoco Chick Hicks. I found this two pack at TJ Maxx last year before Christmas and was ecstatic to find it for under eight bucks. Unfortunately, the paint has chipped so badly over the past 10 months, that the color changer portion of it is unusable. When he changes color, he's half blue and half green at best. I'd be ahead to just go ahead and scrape off the rest of the color changer paint and just have him be a solid color. The green isn't the ride shade either; it's more of a hunter green than a lime green, though my son never commented on that.
