Item was as the seller advertised. Also provided me photos of item when I requested it. Amazing packaging. Definitely would buy from him again.

Never read Witchblade but I've watched the anime series though so kind of thought i knew what i was getting into man this is amazing I love Michael Turners artwork along with the main artist from the 90's like Jim Lee, Rob Liefeld, Todd MvFarlane, and Marc Silvestri the story is good i enjoy it but love artwork and that's 99.9 percent of comics i buy is for the artwork, its sad 20 something years ago these creators whom non comic fans say are horrible cause of the extreme 90's trope like sexy woman, big guns, and insane fights are better than any and i mean any new upcoming comic artist thats say don't judge a book by its cover bull**** look where the comic market is heading its crashing and going under cause why people hate the art and the storys its all SJW bull**** and people still say 90's comics where bad yeah right sure. all n all i recommend this or any 90's image comics like Wildcats or Spawn anything though from this era aka 2000 afterwards don't buy. peace out.

Already previously bought The Complete Witchblade Volume 2 on another site and couldn't find Volume 1 anywhere, so this is my first purchase from amazon, a little complicated because of my location but overall the item came on time and there was no damage, although for some reason they had an issue with my address, besides that, i am satisfied overall. May order again if needed.The book itself is great even though it is the paperback version, don't see this getting damaged quickly unless i throw it around with reckless abandon, or dump it into a pool. Previously read The Complete Darkness Volume 1 which takes place within the same universe, i liked The Darkness so i am positive i will enjoy Witchblade just as much, plus i really, really like Marc Silvestri's art. Looking forward to digging into this comic.

I've been looking for the hardcover version a while now. I saw that the paper pack compendiums had bad binding. I'm happy to report that the binding for this volume is great (just be sure to stretch out before reading).WItchblade, Tomb Raider and Fathom have always been my favorite 90's characters, so gettin this book was a no brainer. Looking forward to Vol. 2.

Love this !! I am extremely happy with this purchase. There's just a few printing errors as in the talking bubbles being smudged on a few pages. But other than that, Great Buy can't wait for volume 2

I always grew up with the Witchblade series in my peripheral vision. As a little kid, reading video game/geek culture magazines in the late 90s/early 2000s, I was always intrigued by the artwork I would see in promotional pieces about Witchblade but I haven’t read the story until now, and I have to say, it’s a treat. This book has FANTASTIC artwork and an action-packed story that’ll keep you on your toes. More people should be reading Witchblade!

You need more than art!

Beautiful artwork, and a decent written story. Looking forward to purchasing volume two.This is a remake of the long out of print omnibus book and it’s fantastic to have my hands once again

Having read some of the later Witchblade run by Ron Marz, I decided to go back to the beginning to enjoy the story from the ground up.When it comes to the artwork, I knew what I was getting into, having experienced the 90s "bad girl" art era the first time around. So I knew I'd be in for a lot of spurious excuses for women characters to be half-clothed, strange anatomical poses and lots of clenched teeth, along with all the more enjoyable aspects of the era in terms of the action set-pieces and some of the wild design work.But what I was not prepared for was the writing. Ooof. I'm not sure the failings here are stylistic; it's just poorly written. Characters repeating themselves from page to page, introducing themselves with exposition that reads like a hastily-written character sheet. And just the clunkiest dialogue, which is genuinely hard to follow because it's so unnatural. Pacing is also a huge issue, with plot points introduced and dropped seemingly at random, making it hard to know what the actual focus of the story should be. I was often at a loss distinguishing A plot from B plot from C plot etc.All of this makes it hard to enjoy what I still feel is a really compelling premise. The potential of the mythology of the Witchblade world is here, you just have to wade through the writing and some of the poorer artwork to get there.I also really want to enjoy reading Sara as the protagonist, but this comic does not make it easy. I'm a sucker for a well-written woman working in a crime and noir context (see: Greg Rucka's work on Gotham Central or Black Magick), but Sara as a police detective is laughably bad. More often than not I found myself laughing at this comic in bewilderment, rather than with it on purpose.My two stars are given for the mythology and premise of this collection rather than for the actual execution. If you're a completist like me who feels the need to read a story from the beginning, then go for it. If you're looking for something actually good to sink your teeth into for a few hours, I think there are better 90s comic artefacts elsewhere.

Sim, a história é fraca que é uma desgraça... mas era o que tinha nas bancas de mais moderno (heh) na década de 90, pelo menos na parte de arte e pintura.Acho que só recomendo esse tipo de leitura pra quem realmente foi daquela época. Caso contrário, realmente há coisas com melhor roteiro e até desenhos melhores. MAS, pra quem foi dessa época, e lembrando em como as vezes era difícil achar as edições, isso aqui é um desbunde.

Aqui temos o início de tudo, quando a Sara, no leito de morte, é salva pela Witchblade. A arte é simplesmente estonteante. Para quem gosta de personagens femininas fabulosamente desenhadas, essa é a HQ. Em nenhuma outra hq eu encontrei mulheres desenhadas tão lindamente. Sensualidade na medida certa e sem apelação. Mesmo que o roteiro não fosse bom (o que não é verdade) só a arte já valeria a pena.Este encadernado possui as 19 primeiras edições de Witchblade e ainda Tales of the Witchblade 1 a 4 e as edições 9 e 10 de The Darkness.O encadernado em capa dura é muito bem feito, com papel couché de excelente qualidade. Tem as mesmas dimensões de uma Marvel Deluxe da Panini. Realmente é uma hq para colecionador.

The quality of the product was severely lacking. The back cover was 1/4 inch shorter than the front cover, uneven and didn’t fully cover the pages of the book. The spine was uneven and loose. The paper stock wasn’t too impressive either. As far as the story goes I haven’t been able to read much but the artwork seems to be printed ok and I suppose the style is up to the reader. As to whether you should buy the product? I’d avoid it and wait till they correct the quality of their product.

The content within the book is great. Fantastic fun artwork and all that good stuff however, the condition of the product is shameful.I got this from the amazon warehouse and this is the third in a line of books I have bought directly from amazon that was packaged horribly and due to said terrible packaging suffered or had already been in shabby shape before shipped.
