Not a necessity but really awesome. Just depress the top of each shaker for freshly ground salt and pepper, and the LED light is wonderful to let you see how much you are adding to your dish. They each use 6 AAA batteries but it’s worth it!

Love it works great! That was when I first got them afterwards a few months went by and one just stopped working don’t know why. A few months later I was cooking in my kitchen when I reached out and pulled the last working grinder had full of salt and quickly put it down finding the battery compartment completely hot as hell I opened and found all batteries overheated and wiring and controls melting. Before anyone decides maybe I keep it to close to the stove 6 feet from the stove on a wooden spice rack mounted to the wall nowhere near water. It just happened removed all batteries and threw away when it worked it was great however will not buy another.

The media could not be loaded.  These Shake & Shop battery operated salt and pepper shakers are pretty and functional. We've only had them a short time, but are so happy with them that we're ordering a set for each of our married children.This is a reasonably priced, handsomely designed in stainless steel make your table or counter look good and does the trick. It fits my hand perfectly. The grinder is adjustable for fine to wide grind.I went through many pepper mills before finding this one. Most have plastic parts, but this one has metal and boy does it make a difference, included with the 2 shakers is a nice caddy the bottom is transparent plastic and the handle stainless steel and the LED light such great additionsThe only complain is the capacity available to hold the spices. What you see is what they hold. But other than that very useful and nice. Very sturdy and well made. Highly recommended.

The fineness gauge was a bit difficult to turn for the fineness, but it eventually loosened up and works well.

It looks good and has a sturdy carrying tray that does not collect excess salt/pepper. The grinding is not consistent. I would return but after some usage I’ve passed the return date.

These are OK. I bought 3 sets for xmas gifts and was told they stop working. Not worth the money

Unfortunately, when the item arrived it was broken, so never got to try them

I bought this because I have Osteoarthritis in my hands and find manual grinders hard to use, painful too.This set was not only good to look at but was easy and painless to use. I would recommend these to anyone with similar problems.

Nice having the base to hold them but would have been better with a closed in base to catch any bits. The one downfall is each mill takes 6 batteries
