General Electric WX08X10015 Refrigerator Water Line , White

This water line is thick walled and good quality. I bought it instead of a cheaper one because I do not want a water leak in the house. I used it to run from a carbon block water filter to a small dedicated filtered water faucet. I used the built in compression cone and nut on one end, and the other end I cut off and attached to the faucet with a push-to-connect coupling.

We just got a new ref and I Googled a lot what kind of kit (and how to install ) to use for the built-in water dispenser/ice maker.I noted that most of them recommended the use of copper tubes since it would eliminate the "plastic" taste in the water & ice.Since we already have an existing GE SmartWater filter and faucet for use in our kitchen sink that use the polypropylene 1/4 ODL tubing, using this GE item was the obvious choice.And, when I looked at the back of the new ref where this water line will connect, I found out that although the cap where it will screw on is made of copper, from there, all tubing that goes to the ice maker & water dispenser on the ref are all made of polypropylene plastic - - so what's the use of using copper???So, with this item plus a union-T and shutoff valve (all polypropylene 1/4 ODL) - all bought via Amazon - in about 30 minutes, water & ice were coming out from the access door in our new fridge!Always use a shut-off valve (and allow some 6-7 ft. extra line at the back of ref) so that you can turn off the water going to the ref without shutting off all the water source in the kitchen (or, the entire house) when moving the ref or doing clean-ups/maintenance at the back of the ref.Thanks, GE & Amazon!!

This item is very strong material the only thing is it does not work on a Samsung fridge ice maker hook up. So I had to cut it for it to work the ends were the same and my fridge has two different fittings. Other then that great product

I got lucky! As it goes with anything I install for plumbing, it's understood I am going to make three trips to the Big Orange Box Store for piece parts.This installed beautifully and without problem, like I had done this before. I had already replaced my plumbing under the sink during the kitchen remodel with a 1/4" shut off for our future GE refrigerator. With the use of a 5/8" paddle bit, I drilled holes out of view and through the rear of our cabinets and had a couple feet of slack to connect the 1/4" fitting at the fridge. I flushed the line out into a 5 gallon bucket before I hooked it up to the fridge. For the first time in 30+ years, we have a refrigerator that dispenses ice AND water! Woo-Hoo!

Should work for pretty much any 1/4" water/ice hookup on any appliance. The tapered end is a nice touch that should prevent leaks.

Easy replacement for leaking copper water line to a GE built in ice maker. Ran a gallon of water through it before installing and we don't notice a taste.

I bought a Whirlpool fridge from a big box store and the water line they included for ten dollars was only four feet. I returned it and bought this along with a quick tee adapter and the hook up was perfect. It took longer to drill the hole through the solid wood cabinet than anything else.
