After spending money on various expensive trimmers that under performed, I thought I would give this one a chance. Managed to pick it up for £15 and boy am I impressed! Cleans up much better then my many £60-£80 trimmers and it's so much easier to use with the single adjustable head. Very easy to clean too hair seems to never get inside the head. Only downside is the charge time and battery life but as I use it once a week it's not too bad for me. Would highly recommend for this price!

I have bought two of these after the first one stopped working - my initial review is below. However, having taken great care with the second one, making sure I didn’t get any water on the body of the device, it inexplicably stopped working following a charge. I think this design is fundamentally flawed from both practical and environmental perspective and would recommend buying something else. Buy cheap, pay twice (or for this customer, thrice).Original review - ignore!This is a pretty reasonable ergonomic clipper for the price. When it’s working well, it cuts pretty well and pretty evenly using some well designed, simple functions. However, the blades can be a little sensitive and it looses power during trimming as hair collects in them - if you run it under a tap, it quickly returns to normal speed BUT although it’s says it’s waterproof, it is only the cutting head which is, the rest of the device is not, so be careful!

This is perfect for that 'pre shave' before tackling you face with an electric foil shaver. I have killed the beard trimmer on 2 foil shavers, where the foil part is still working fine so this seemed like a good alternative to replacing the whole shaver again. As it is a purpose built for beard trimming, it performs significantly better than the pop up beard trimmer on a foil shaver. I tend to shave clean, wait for significant growth and then start again. This is perfect for 'taking off the big stuff' before adding the finishing touch with the foil shaver. This is not for cutting hair, and should be limited to tidying up around ears and the straggly bits down the back of the neck, but definitely not for a hair cut. Gentle enough with the blade guard completely off, although it is possible to nick yourself with it if you get too casual. Also good to tame a moustache but be careful around your lips if you are using it without the blade guard. Nice compact item, well put together battery life seems fine, and for the price it represent good value.

I purchased this particular trimmer because it had the fewest parts. The other trimmers all had different heads for adjusting the trim length of the bread. The Braun had a simple dial with 20 trim level settings - it's so easy to use. I travel a lot so I needed a trimmer I could pop in my case - no need for a separate case to hold the different heads.Once charged, the trimmer worked fine over a week of travel - no need to recharge.The only gripe I have is that the head is too wide. A narrower head would mean that it would take longer to trim the beard but a smaller head would allow the shaver to get into the difficult-to-shave bits like under the nose or under the jaw line.

What a frustrating purchase. It came with 3-pin UK charging adapter, not 2-pin UK as advertised in product text and photos. The charging indicator is on the adapter, not the trimmer body... which is very inconvenient if, like me, the mains socket is tucked behind my bedside cabinet.The trimmer cost more than advertised because a shipping charge was added to the advertised 'next day, free delivery'. It takes 10 hours to charge fully - which is ridiculous - and, finally, nothing happened after that 10 hours charging.I arranged for a refund, unplugged it... and the trimmer sprang into life! What the instruction manual fails to mention completely is that the trimmer will not operate if still plugged in to the charging adaptor. Duh! So, I'm going to keep it to see how it actually trims.

Good product all around in it’s way to use it. Yet too massive defaults:-a battery that takes an eternity to charge, it will last eventually reasonably long after it, but we are still talking of 8 to 10 hours of charging. And it’s made for European electric plugs not UK’s. I don’t mind that as a French living in UK I have adapters but it’s still annoying.-And the product is just fragile. It never fell, I used it for 2 months not that regularly (lockdown) and it broke last time I used it. Maybe the angle I used to shave my chin wasn’t the best, hairs where a bit long (about 2 to 3cm), and I wanted a clean shave, and maybe I did it a bit too quickly. But still it broke by trimming a beard. The thing it is supposed to do right? And it never happens to me before with other devices. Impossible to get it started again, even after a deep clean and 48hrs of charging.Really disappointed, would not recommend to anybody.Purchasing a replacement as I’m writing and it’s definitely not gonna be from the same brand.

Not the Rolls Royce of trimmers but excellent for the price and does a good job. No complaints so far.
