CX40 so far so good
I have a dometic CF-18 12v compressor fridge that I've used for several years, love it. Recently wanted a bigger fridge and decided to try this one (CX40) Just arrived and I hooked it to my power supply, amps are similar to my CF-18. compressor off current is about .05A. Compressor on: 12V,3.45A (41.8watt) 13V,3.22A (41.4watt) 14V,2.94A (41.2 watt). It cooled empty from 66F to 32F in 20 minutes or so. 42 watts may seem high to run on a battery but remember the compressor only runs intermittently, maybe 1/3 of the time (depends on ambient temp). I recently camped 5 days running my dometic and had no problem charging my battery with a 100 watt solar panel.A little noisier than my CF-18 but not bad, just a fan noise when compressor is running. Louder than your average laptop...Tested the cutoff voltages (compressor running): H=11v M=9.9V, L=8.3V voltage at the fridge readout, the voltage at the power supply was a little higher (cord loss) So 11V at fridge is around 11.4 at the PSU so decent for lead acid. Not terribly heavy empty but full of food I'll be happy for the dolly wheels and handle.edit:I ran the CX40 on my porch (shaded except for a hour of two in the morning) fridge empty for several days and recorded the amp hours. Works well, could use a few improvements
Been on for 14 days straight as of this writing, mostly having been bounced around on dirt roads during that time. Rattles when going over bumps, and the compressor can be noisy on quiet nights. For example, I prefer not to sleep in the car with it running, as it can be loud enough to keep me awake. It's not terrible, pretty much like your fridge at home but with a fairly loud and fast metallic tick-tick-tick when it first starts up that slowly fades into a less intrusive sound over the 3-5 minutes that it tends to run at a time. Since I usually sleep in my tent, this is not an issue for me very often, and as long as I'm not in bear-country, I just leave it outside if I happen to be sleeping in my car.Mostly what it needs is better insulating properties, as it fights to keep the cold in and the hot out. For example, I unplugged it while rearranging my car, and it went from 38 to 68 degrees in just 5 minutes. Makes running it on hot days, which is already difficult if you're relying on solar, even more inefficient. That said, works great with my Jackery 240, and except on 100+ degree days, it rarely used more than 50% of the Jackery power during the night. On cold nights, only 30%. On hot nights, however, more like 75%. Again, needs better insulation. As a baseline test before leaving on my current trip, I ran it for 32+ hours before it drained the Jackery to less than 8%. This included opening and closing it 5 times to simulate real world use. Test was done on an apx 80 degree day.Temp variance between top of cooler near lid, and bottom, is quite noticeable. With thermostat set to 38 degrees, there is sometimes just a little ice on the bottom, but the top (according to the built-in thermometer reading) will be nearly 42 degrees before it kicks on. Again, better insulation would solve this.Needed something compact, as I've a small car that's already full with camping, camera, and audio gear, and this was the smallest 12V compressor fridge I could find. Just big enough for a 1/2 dozen eggs, small mayonnaise, small almond milk, 4 sticks of butter, small head of broccoli, small zucchini, and a small yellow squash. Throw in something flat like cold-cuts or a steak and I can stay in the woods for a week between supply runs. Perfect for 1 person. All in all, mostly great product. Has seen some very rough miles the last 2 weeks and hasn't let me down yet. I'm camping for at least another month straight, so will update this review if anything changes.

Car camping purchase
We bought this to use when we travel/camp in our Honda Element. With this and a little 12-volt lunch box we can bring all of the food we need and avoid restaurants entirely. The rest of the time it sits in the back seat of my car so it's all ready to keep any frozen grocery purchases solid till I return home. Goes from air temperature to 9 degrees in 15 minutes.

Very Good, portable fridge so far.
Got this for dual purpose as a camping/roadtrip fridge and to use in my gaming den when not camping, it's light and rugged with good build quality. If I were to complain about anything, I'd say it's a bit noisy and the internals rattle a bit when jostled. I'm probably going to 3d print a bracket to supplement the rigidity of the internals before trying it on 4-wheelers and the like.

size and composition.
don't dislike anything. I am a truck driver and this is perfect for keeping my food and drinks cold.

WOW had used it NON STOP for 4 months not a single issue!
This freezer? Is a DYNAMO!!!! We used it to move cross country in July. When we arrived to our new home, we needed to keep frozen products in this unit and I ran it 24/7 for 4 months straight! Quiet, temp perfectly held in a 100 F garage! Moved it to the sun room, and just kept going. Turned it off this month for a couple of weeks, had to fire it up again, running perfectly., This unit is absolutely amazing, period. I have had numerous portable fridge/freezers, none ran like this

Game Changer
I camp at least twice per month. This frig has changed my entire way of camping for the better. I have used it for 2 years everyday. It is large enough to have enough beer, drinks, and food for an entire three day weekend of primitive, remote camping. When not camping it becomes the mancave fridge and runs 24/7. I have already got my money out of this frig. Ran for three days in my truck on a hiking trip in Yosemite to do the Half Dome cables. Was greeted with a ice cold beer at the end of the hike. Best beer of my entire life!
