More than a book on decorating!
This book was a true eye-opener to more than just how a home should be styled. Our entire being is attached to our home spaces and Tisha breaks down what Taoism is and how it birthed our understanding of yin and yang, and from there yin and yang can be applied to our understanding of how fire, water, earth, wood, and metal correlates to our home. It is a delicate balancing act complete with a handy reference guide in the back of the book.Overall the book receives five stars because the author takes her time to not only talk about decorating but how to understand WHY we decorate in this way. I'm sure I'll be purchasing more of her books.Side note: I wish there were color picture examples of what she mentions in the book. It was very WORDY, which is fine for a bookworm like myself, but I just thought it would be good to have an example to gawk at.

As a graduate of one of the leading schools of feng shui, I always felt that I was missing something in my understanding and using of feng shui. Tisha's book and explanation of the Five Elements was the missing piece of the puzzle in my feng shui education. Watch out worldj! I've "got it" now and I've become a real fan of Tisha's. Thank you so much.

Excellent overview
I love how the author breaks down the different components of feng shui in a simple way. She offers clear explanations as well as an easy-to-understand approach to what intuitively feels right in your home. Concepts are explained fully but simply in a conversational style--like having a chat over coffee with a friend.

If you are looking to improve your home and/or health, this book is a great tool. I have read many books on the art and science of feng shui and this is the best I have read so far. Ms. Morris does a thorough job explaining how to bring more harmony into your environment with the five elements. I would recommend this book to anyone seeking to feel healthier and/or to balance and beautify his/her surroundings.

Over complicated, confusing, unusable for beginners
In case, if you want to start with Feng Shui, don't buy this book... This book starts to describe the Ying/Yang and the 5 elements... And after reading for hours about these principles you get total confused and ask for what? Is my house more Ying or Yang, or Earth,.. and is my personality more... and what is with my partner does he fit me, does he fit to the house... after Fengshui. And then the goal of this author is fulfilled to get everybody confused... To make the book even harder to read, in the content are only Chapter 1 to 14 without any description... Great, and then my house is built perfectly for Fengshui, but doesn't fit her Fengshui system... Because I have a Thai house, and the Frontdoor is at the back (because of the spirits) and even perfectly aligned for the original Fengshui system in the Southeast at the wealth corner... For her system everything is not fitting,... We are wrong in Asia and You are correct in the USA!?

Feng shui not only your home but Yourself too
This is a book that you will need to read slowly. It has a lot of information and it will need probably a few reads before all sinks in. It can reveal a lot about what person you are . I love it.
