Great detective reads
Lana French is one of my favorite authors now. Her novels take unexpected twists and turns and she is gifted making her characters relatable and real. Taking place in Ireland it’s been fun to discover their culture and language idioms. I appreciate no explicit sexual content or overuse of vulgar language. She tells the story around the characters experiences and emotions.

Nice Set
Nice boxed set of books. Thick paperback books (lots of pages), books well constructed. Very British, well written. If you like the PBS mysteries from Britain, you will probably like these. For the first book the writing is a bit clunky, which is common for first novels. Still a good read and the writing improves with practice; each book is better than the one before it.Well worth the money. A lot of reading for a good price.

Dublin. Murders. Delicious!!
Just started the first book in the Tana French series. Writing is vivid and engaging from the start. I know I’m going to be very sad when I start the last book… Hope there will be more.

What a memorable series!
Loved everything about these books. Each was an interesting police mystery, each focused on riveting characters, great portrayal of a location I had not thought about, and without being intrusive about it the stories contain a lot to think about later.I also liked the style of using the main character of each book as a secondary character in the following book.I think the only people who would not like these books are those simply looking for a light police procedural, and who not want this mixed with a nuanced story about human beings.

good price poor quality book Love the author
I read the first book of this series...Into the Woods and really enjoyed it. It was a gift and I really enjoyed the author. It was a Penguin published book. When I saw this set, around $35, so inexpensive, I figured I'd purchase it instead of one at a time for an average of $5.50 each as a set. I guess I should have known the quality would not be as nice. The book content seems fine so far. I guess you get what you pay for with printing.

Interesting
Only read one so far. Very interesting premise, police procedural, but too wordy.

Can't put them down.
Literature quality writing with an excellent story. Full of twists and a real feel for the Irish melancholy. The first 3 volumes blend into each other, but one doesn't need to read them in order. I've given them a gifts to my crime noir loving friends and they are always thankful.
