Blister city!
I read the reviews religiously on these and was SO excited to get them. I've been in need of a new pair of steel toed for a few weeks now and these seemed great. I figured I'd have to wear them in; didn't figure they'd be SO PAINFUL. As most reviews stated, I bought true to size; DO NOT BUY TRUE TO SIZE. I'm a 8.5, bought as such, and these felt like a 7 on my feet. I stretched the toe for about a half hour before putting them on with a pair of thick socks to walk my dogs around the block; a 20 minute walk and the backs of my heels were completely blistered within 5 minutes. (My poor pups got the brunt of my frustration when I cut their walk short and hobbled home with them after 20 minutes-- I couldn't stand it any longer.) While I absolutely LOVE the look of these, and they provided great arch support and definitely seem like they'd be comfortable in other aspects to wear all day long, they're far too tight in all the wrong places and I immediately went to UPS to return them after walking my dogs. Went to a store at the mall nearby, bought a pair of Carolina mens boots in a size 8, and they're a dream compared to these Caterpillars. Go somewhere else to find your next pair of steel toed work boots, or if you're determined to get these ones from the cute style alone, go up at LEAST a full size and prepare heels with some moleskin before wearing for even a few minutes!

My very first pair of work boots
These boots are really comfortable and super cute for a work boot! I've never had work boots and definitely not steel toed boots but these are surprisingly comfortable, especially with all the walking I have to do in them. I typically wear an 8 or 8.5 but decided to buy the 8.5 because of the steel toe (I didn't know if it would be super narrow or not). It's a little roomier than I would like but I do wear thicker socks in these boots so it helps...I'd rather have a little extra space than have them overly tight. They haven't caused blisters or anything either, but they are a little tight on the tops of my feet where the laces start...I'm going to put a tennis ball in the spot over the weekend to loosen up that tightness. I would highly recommend to those few girls who actually do need work boots! :)

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!
I love the look of these boots! I was super excited about getting them but unfortunately it was a HUGE mistake! I ordered 8.5 wide, my normal shoe size but my feet felt so cramp and then heel was cutting into the back of my ankles. My roomate/best friend also bought a pair of caterpillars but a different style and the same thing happens to get but she gets HUGE blisters. My other problem is the boots do something weird with the top of my feel... could it be cutting it too? Unsure but I know it gets really irritated and itchy and painful. When I finally am able to take my boots off I have swollen red irritated itchy feet.. almost like a reaction to the boot even tho I wear long thick socks to try and protect myself better. I think exchanged them for a 9 wide and when I received them and put them on it was almost like it was even smaller! So I put the 8.5 wide and the 9 wide together and the 8.5 wide was bigger! I thought caterpillar was one of the best brand of steel toed boots? I’m so disappointed! Every once in awhile I’ll have a really good day with them or even a week but then it goes back to all the pain and irritation. I don’t get it.

Fashionable and comfy with the right socks
I thought that these boots fit true to size. I needed Steel toe boots to visit a manufacturing plant, but I don't expect to walk a lot in them. Because of the slimmer profile, these boots weren't as comfortable as a pair of Wolverine Belle's that I got from Academy. The steel toe digs into my foot a little bit after a while so i took off a star. Also, I think thick, tall socks are required since there's zero padding on the back of the heel, and the plaid material is a rough canvas-type fabric. My hiking and running socks worked pretty well, but I can definitly see why people get blisters.Update: wore these for two weeks straight. They're pretty comfortable now that I've broken them in, and I didn't get any blisters since I wore thick Rei wool socks. However, the leather looks a little worn out and shows scratches easily. they're supposed to be work shoes though, so I guess it helps me blend in with the other workers onsite. Overall I would recommend them.

I love the look of these boots and get compliments often
I love the look of these boots and get compliments often. They lace up well and give me no problems with the ankle height rubbing. I usually wear a 7, and am glad that I got a 6.5 after reading comments.Unfortunately, the heel is shaped weird (which they attribute to shock absorption), and this can be uncomfortable. When I first got them, blistering was a concern. I recommend moleskin to get through the break-in process. Now that I have broken them in, I have no problems with blisters and can wear the shoes for several hours. If I'm doing some serious walking that day, the way the heel sits makes my heels sore. Not quite the level of comfort I was hoping for, but considering how long I can wear them before I start to notice any discomfort, I am still very happy with these shoes.

Not worth the cost and hassle of the return plus the 20% rip off fee.
The quality is ok but they DO NOT fit true to size. I ordered half a size up AND wide but the toe box was still a bit too tight for comfort. Also the fabric cuff rubbed against my calf. Even though I only tried them on and wore on my carpet for 20 minutes then returned them I only got a 2/3 refund? IF YOU HAVE THE SLIGHTEST PROBLEM WITH SHOE FIT, DO NOT BUY THESE. GO TO A STORE WHERE YOU CAN TRY ON BOOTS. THE SELLER ACTUALLY CHARGED ME BECAUSE THE BOX WAS DAMAGED IN SHIPPING BY UPS! Unreal!

You wont regret buying these!
I bought these for hiking boots, and they are the best boots I've ever owned. Definitely worth the money. Put a coat of leather all on them and they stay looking brand new!
