so you want to sing?
This is the book for you to get started. Easy to read, easy to digest, and best of all, easy to practice and improve. As a new singer in a band, I wanted to improve my vocal pitch, tone and strength. This book has really been a major step forward for me.Follow the exercises and practice daily using the CD. There are three offering, short warm up, beginning, intermediate and advanced sessions. This is particularly helpful in that the voices muscles take a bit of time to build. By working , daily, and slowly increasing the singing time and level of practice, you WILL improve. It helps with strength, breathing, articulation, emphasis and song interpretation. And the best part is it does not overwhelm the reader/singer, with too much to digest. You can get started immediately, and after a month or so, you will have more control, power, be on the note, and simply improve. The only catch, is you have to sing every day, just like exercise. Will it teach you like a vocal coach? Perhaps a bit. Will it help you prepare for serious lessons with a coach, you bet! You'll be fitter and more able to take advantage of a coach by working through this first.I worked through the pink version (earlier) first , then this one, and they are very close, but I think I prefer the jazz and rock exercises in this version. They are, very close in a practical application sense however.

A Voice Teacher's Dream!
I bought this book last year when I was starting to teach more voice lessons. All I can say is that it has served both me and my students well! I teach mostly adults who want to reclaim their voice or learn for the first time the proper way to sing. This book covers all the basics and on top of that, it's fun! The exercises don't bore us to tears as many vocal exercises seem to do! I love the accompaniment track because it makes you feel like you're singing actual songs and makes the exercises easy to get into. I have not even tapped into the actual song exercises in the advanced workout. I'm still enjoying the warm-up workout and basic workout. This is a fantastic book and I will be purchasing the companion, The Contemporary Singer, soon.

This what I’m about to tell you will blow your mind
You need need need to get the Roland vt-12 voice trainer with this, the voice trainer has all the audio an excercises an warm up already installed to go along with the book an it has the key/pitch correction so you can visually see if your on or off which also records so you can hear your playback, if you bought this book you need the Roland vt-12 to accompany it, this is a no brainer

If you want to be a singer do it.
If anyone knows what they are doing these guys do. There is a lot of BS in the singing world. You must have seen the advertisements, written by the teacher of <insert name of pop star>. Then the book contain some strange technique. That stuff is a road to nowhere. To learn to sing:Learn to play an instrument that you can play chords on (piano is best).Find out about ear training and work at it (and I don't mean some bogus "perfect pitch" course.)Get Contemporary Singer: Elements of Vocal Technique and study it. Find a teacher who's training is consistent with it.This book and enclosed CD is full of great exercises that is a lot of cheap training. This is from Berklee Press and Berklee College of Music has produced some on the world's best contemporary musicians. This book would not have made it out the door if it had not had good reviews from some of the best. Also get The Contemporary Singer: Elements of Vocal Technique and learn the theory of the voice. Learn how your instrument works and how to look after your voice. It is easy to buy a new guitar, you only have one voice.Trust Berklee, they know what they are teaching.

Looking for more like this one... THE CD IS PRICELESS.
I got this to help keep a sixth-grader interested in daily practice, including warmup and workout, and THE CD IS PRICELESS.Any adult can knock out a half hour of practice a day, if they are motivated. But the accompaniments on the CD are cool enough that a jaded twelve-year-old is not only interested in making dorky sounds and singing scales, but willing to do it again tomorrow, and again the next day. We've been using it for five months. The only problem is, now we are spoiled:Before this book, I had a smart phone app for warmups and workouts; it was OK, with piano accompaniment. Two months after buying this book, looking to mix it up a bit, we got Anne Peckham's "The Contemporary Singer: Elements of Vocal Technique."The practice CD is OK, with piano accompaniment. We just bought the Hal Leonard Pro Vocal Series Vocal Warmups volume. Now, other volumes in the Pro Vocal Series feature karaoke-like accompaniments, recorded by real bands and orchestras. That's what I was hoping with the Vocal Warmups book, but...that's right, the practice CD is OK, with piano accompaniment. When she's older, she will still have three fine books to use as source material for daily warmups and workouts. Until then, the piano accompanied CDs are gathering dust.Does anyone know of other vocal instruction CDs with real bands, like this one?(Any bands or studios out there looking for a gold mine?)We got Judy Niemack's "Hear It and Sing It! Exploring the Blues" two months ago. It is a beautiful introduction to jazz (and scat) by way of the blues, with a decent jazz rhythm section. We do incorporate 3-5 minutes of it into daily practice time, but its focus is developing jazz style for an experience vocalist. We are hoping for tricks to keep daily warmups and workouts exciting... Cherry-picking bits and pieces from single-style instruction books works, provided there's a decent accompaniment CD.

Excelente libro

Bin begeistert
