2" Blue & Black Acoustic Wedge Soundproofing Studio Foam Tiles 12 Pack

I was in need of a decorative solution for my production studio / office. My budget was a major factor in the decision of purchase these and I am sure glad that I did.Installation - Carpet tack strips from Home Depot (3 x 48" for under $2) cut down to 3" strips. Mounted to the wall with nails I had laying around. These hung right in place, with a gap of no more than 1/8" at the top. I was able to get 24 panels hung in about an hour from start to finish. I hung them in a diamond shape, offset in three rows with gaps around 1' - 2' between them.Aftermath - Visually, clients have walked in and immediately noted how well they look on the wall, which was my main goal. There was a noted side benefit to myself and my clients - the sound in the office is much cleaner and sharper, with the obvious reduction in reflection (even partially covering a solid wall makes a difference).The only issue I had was the panels came in stretch wrapped, and the blue never re-expanded properly. I contacted the seller directly, and they were WONDERFULLY responsive about working with me to solve the problem. Their responsiveness, understanding, and commitment to working with me to solve the problem made me wish I could give it 4.5 out of 5!

Tiles are not uniform in size and shape: Some are shorter by a few millimeters, some have sides that are not totally perpendicular. This just means you may have to stretch/skew/compress them individually if you want perfect tiling without gaps. There are also small nicks in the material on some pieces. None are greater than a few millimeters, but there are enough of them to be noticeable. All of this is cosmetic - and should not impact acoustic performance.

So I have had these tiles for about a week now! First things first, it's amazing how they pack so muh into such a tiny box. But my first complaint is that I order 2 packages of the tiles and had to pay twice for shipping, but they shipped it in just one box. That makes me a little frustrated how I paid twice for shipping but they only had to ship it once. Now it did come in just 3 days which was a suprise.Now onto the tiles. All of mine like look great and do make a good amount of difference in sound. It does seem that the blue tiles are about a 1/2 inch shorter on one side then the rest of the tiles which is slightly noticeable for someone with OCD like me. I overall love them. They are functional and look great! I have them In a 3x8ft rectangle on my wall.

These are much better than the famous auralex foam panels costing several times more. These are class A fire rated meaning you can use these in residential or commercial buildings. Auralex you can not, they will burn easily. These have nearly the same performance, and are much safer. I can not stress enough that these are the best deal in acoustic treatment, 200 bucks less than the exact same thing from auralex. The only complaints I have is these can be difficult with certain glues, and they are available even cheaper directly from the manufacturer at soundproofstore.com but now I will be ordering straight from there. Overall I would use these over any other foam panels available. Don't believe the hype about the big brand's stc ratings. These are tested thoroughly and unlike the big brands the true stats are not exaggerated.

I ordered 24 pieces of the sound proof foam. Immediately after opening the box, I was aware of the foam padding being compressed together. After removing tha vacuum wrapping my padding started to take shape. I waited 24hrs before actually installing my foam. One think I noticed about this foam is that a has a very small shimmer to it. Both the charcoal and blue which looks absolutely amazing. My workstation is actually set up in the corner of my studio. So, I wanted the foam for mixing purposes primarily. After the complete install of my foam I could immediately hear a difference. The reverb in the corner it practically GONE. I'm excited to book my first session to get my perfect mixes on!!!

I'll be completely honest with you I'm not an audiophile but i still I love music like sound garden, incubus, imagine dragons, and even some classical music, and after listening to a wide array of music and watching movies on my 5.1 channel surround sound I decided I didn't want everyone listening to me listening to music so I used this to soundproof my door note that this product does not critically and dramatically enhance my listening experience but it does help, it is definately for people who just want to start on soundproofing their ROOM and a small one at that I am very satisfied but in retrospect I wish I would have saved up about one hundred dollars and gotten a larger quantity.

For the price you can't beat these. And they're not meant for soundproofing, they're meant for sound conditioning-big difference. I've read a lot of the reviews good and bad. Also I've had them up in both my commercial studio, and my home studio for about a year. No discoloration thus far.

I am pleased with how many acoustic foams I received for the price. I am living in an apartment so I do not wishto permanently glue it on the wall so I decided to use 3M's removable poster tape. Strangely, the tape only stickson the black foams, but not on the blue ones. All the blue ones were on the floor when I woke up next day.I looked closely into the material of the foams. The black ones have larger pores while the blue ones have smallerpores. It appears, due to the coloring reagent, these differences are made. I just wished that this item providesdouble-sided tape that sticks to the foam.

My favorite studio foam. Have it wall to wall. Love it! Works great and improves the sound floor in the vocal booth.
