Love my new Porta-Booth Plus!
I wish I had bought this sooner! The Porta-Booth Plus actually exceeded my expectations. It is roomier than I had anticipated with plenty of space for my mic/shock-mount/pop-filter AND my tablet. Best of all, my audio now sounds excellent, as if I were actually recording in a full-size sound booth. This attractive booth is lightweight, yet solid, and well built of rugged materials. It is a breeze to set up too! Hey Harlan, if you need a vo to do a spot about your Porta-Booth, let me know! :o)*** Update: I wanted to add an update to my initial review of the Porta-Booth Plus. Everyday I find more reasons to ♥ it! I did not initially anticipate how the booth would improve the use of my tablet for script reading. Actually, I was concerned that there would not be enough room for one.As I mentioned previously, there is plenty of room for a tablet. The wonderful thing is that now, I do not have to prop my tablet precariously on my stand and hope it does not fall while recording. Now, my tablet easily props in the back of my booth and I can have it at any angle and not have to worry about it shifting or falling over.Additionally, before I started putting my tablet in the booth there would be a glare on the screen at certainly times of the day and I would have a hard time reading the script, but not anymore! When my tablet is in the Porta-Booth it is very easy to view the screen and I have no more trouble reading scripts.Harlan also sells a custom-made travel bag for the Porta-Booth Plus and I just got one today. It is equally impressive and I am so glad to have it in time for summer travels! I also wrote a review on the travel bag here: Porta-Booth Plus Carry-On Travel Bag. If you plan to travel, especially by plane, this is a must-have for your porta-booth. It is carry-on approved and holds all the stuff you like to have handy when flying. I no longer have to be tied to my home studio, thanks to Harlan's products! I can now travel with ease and still produce quality audio on the go with my Porta-Booth Plus and custom carry-on travel bag.

Great Product
Excellent product. I am new to the voiceover world but so far love this. At first I was waffling between this and the Porta-Booth Pro. Chose this due to the smaller size and price. I am glad that I did. While this is portable if you travel A LOT like I do (work for an airline, so 15 days a month at least) then you do not want anything bigger than this. The pro would be too large for a full time traveler. As it is, this works great both at home and on the road. I can't profess to be an expert on acoustics but I can say that this really isolates the mic from a lot of the extraneous noise and echoes. I use it in a closet and home and it is virtually a sound booth. As I said it is a bit bulky to travel with. Do not plan on packing it in a roll aboard. Looping it over the handle and carrying it externally is the best you are going to do if you plan on carrying any clothes in your suitcase. But it is really light and there is no way you are going to get something as effective in a smaller package. The whole reason for the effectiveness is the acoustic foam which, by definition, has to have a certain amount of null space in the foam to dampen and absorb sound. The booth is easy to assemble and take apart quickly.

Zipper failed first time I undid it
I have this around 6 months, and the sound is fine for a podcast, but I don't know about VOs. However, I was considering taking it with me on a trip, and I unzipped the back piece. It was a bit large for my suitcase, so I dumped the idea of working with it while on the road. That was no big deal, but when I returned home and went to attach the back piece, the zipper failed. It wouldn't connect. This was the FIRST TIME I'd unzipped it since putting it together. As I write this, I still haven't been able to successfully zip the back piece on. That's just lame.

Good for Voiceover pre-recordings in a quiet space, not so good if it's to be used for live sessions
Product came on time. I used this in a walk in closet which worked well. The product itself isn't as sturdy as it first appeared and the zip broke after about 6 months and only two trips. I really babied this item too. I highly recommend getting the insurance. I got an e-credit refund. That said:Pros-Great for quick voice over AUDITIONS only not sessions or prerecorded VO's or a podcast on the go- Sound-wise - I used it in an almost silent room so I found it provided a good sound but again, I was in a sealed silent room. May work well in a bathroom if that's all that is available and you want to remove some of the echo.- I used quite successfully in a walk in closet (which did a lot of the work) and recorded Voice over readings and auditions. A good product for pre-recordings if in a quiet space already- Looks great. Was really excited when it arrived- Easy to put together if you have two working hands (those with mobility issues may struggle with this item)- It does dampen the surrounding sound but remember it's not a miracle machine. If your place is really noisy I don't know how much help this would actually be but there is software so there's thatCONS-- It cannot easily and conveniently be used for VO SESSIONS with clients where they'll need to see your face on zoom.- Not enough space inside to place your laptop - it will be too close to the mic even if it did fit. Remember you don't want any hard surfaces near your mic. The sound BOUNCES off these items- Strongly encourage using an ipad and making your ipad an 'echo screen' for your laptop. That's all a little involved for me but not impossible if this is all you have.- Not enough room to place your computer/ipad in good enough view to see your wave patterns (on your computer DAW ie Twisted Wave / Garage Band) or easily adjust your gain on an interface without stopping and moving your head away from the booth. Works best with a non usb mic as you can get the interface in at least.- If you have a great / sensitive mic - like a Neumann 103 (I bought from Amazon which is great) or another industry standard mic you will have to place CLOTH or some other kind of soundproofing on the wall BEHIND you to stop the reverb and on the floor underneath you.- At this time, where everything is remote and you are your own engineer - clients like to call on Zoom to SEE you and then connect to SourceConnect for audio. This booth is just a bit fiddly and doesn't allow you to see everything all at one time (wave patterns to see when your sound is maxing out/computer zoom video etc)- It's too heavy and not stead enough to hang on a boom arm. It rips the back of the Porta-Booth when hung. I bought a projector stand to place it on so I could stand when I used this.
