USELESS
I cannot believe greenlee would put their name on this ,It is of little to no use in ripping nm cable jacket .It is made of too light weight metal for its design and would not work on 12/2 at all . It is by far the worst tool of its design i have seen yet . 43 years in the trade ,greenlee is a goto brand name for electrical tools from knockout sets to large cable pullers ,top notch tools .BUT not this one ,spend more money on an ideal ripper .

Have used these style strippers for 20 years...this one is just not a winner... total garbage
As long time electrician I use this style stripper (previously I had always used the IDEAL brand) dozens of times very day for almost 20 years...Never a problem. This Greenlee ripper has been a complete waste. I doesn't self center on the cable well so when you pull it, it rides off to the side and fails to strip properly. Not sure whats going on with Greenlee, they usually make better products

Damaged the internal wires on the Romex every time
I purchased these strippers to strip the outer cover off of romex wire instead of using a utility knife, which always made me nervous that I was going to damage the internal wires insulation.Right out of the box they shredded the insulation on the internal wires.Total crap, these do not work.Pat Robinson

Garbage. Utter garbage.
Buy the Klein. This isn't just a cheaper version that doesn't work as well. It's an imitation that somehow fails to perform its one very simple task. Don't buy this. If you bought this, throw it on the ground and walk away. Buy the Klein.

Not happy with it
Started off great, but the blade started to bend after wiring a bathroom. If you need something to sit in your toolbox unused for years it's great, but not so much if you actually intend on using it.

Do Not Believe The 5-Stars Ratings
Completely fails at stripping 12-gauge solid and stranded electrical wires for which it is rated (rated for 8-34 gauges). I tried many times but never once succeeded. The stopper that the wire to be stripped presses against is too narrow, and it looks as if it will break off if you drop the tool. Though it looks manly (it's also smaller than it looks), this tool once used several times starts to cast doubt in your mind. It will start to feel more like a made-in-China wire stripper even though it says made in Sweden. On the plus side, I was able to strip 32-gauge stranded wire without breaking any strands. The unit seems more suitable in terms of its built, feel and usability to strip finer gauge wires as you would encounter in electronics work. If you are an electrician, do not buy this to strip the thicker gauges of wires you work with on a daily basis because you will be sorry. This wire stripper is way over priced. I put its fair market value at around $20 (twenty dollars). Let's get it there.

Sharpen the cutting prong
As others have mentioned, this tool doesn't perform well as implemented. The Klein stripper version of these works right out of the package, whereas these struggle to cut nicely, evenly, if at all.Once the cutter was sharpened with a file, it performed much better, but that was both difficult to sharpen the whole cutting edge, nor should it have been necessary at all.

Picture angle is misleading
Thought it was the style with the hole on the bent end to help stabilize it when ripping long runs. Will be returning it.

Fast stripper
After a few weeks of use the cutter tips were showing a lot of gouges. I tried to sharpen it with a small file and I must not have put the edge on correctly because now it is totally useless. Even prior to my "sharpening" I found it struggled with 12ga. or larger, or older wiring. A bad tool spend.

Good strippers
I work in Telecom and I purchased these because I had to wire strip connections for about 200 radio's. I was mostly stripping 12 gauge power cable and this did an excellent job.Pretty good build quality. The only thing I wish they had was a stop plate on them.
