SR SUN RISE Universal Showering Components Shower Arm Brushed Nickel

I purchased the 16" arm to go with a 12" rain shower head. You'll definitely want this longer one or you'll be too close to the shower wall. The quality is amazing; very hefty metal with an excellent chrome plating for mine. It comes with plumbing tape and is packaged in a white cloth bag!You may or may not be able to install this yourself. If you have a plastic shower wall you'll probably be okay doing it yourself. You will need to have a 1.5" hole in the wall to attach to the plumbing. Don't worry, the included escutcheon will cover the hole. On the other hand, if you are looking at marble or granite or similar material, it becomes a bit more challenging. You will need the appropriate (probably diamond coated) piece to make the hole in the rock. I called a plumber and he first cut the 1.5" hole in a piece of wood. He then centered it over the existing ( but small) hole in the wall and taped it down. He also kept the area wet. It all depends on how handy you are doing these things.The threaded fitting seemed sort of funky. I swear it appeared to be tapered. My plumber kept turning and turning it and it never really got completely tight. But he checked for leaks (challenging when you are peering through a small hole in marble), both visually and by feel, and detected no leaks at all. So however they designed that fitting, it seemed to work.My wife is super happy! And that's the defining criterion by which I judge.
