Strong and easy to use.
Apart from having a wider blade than the more common 18mm tool this is one really nice knife. The thing that sets it apart for me is the screw that holds the blade really snugly in position. In my opinion this is a big plus feature especially as it stops you inadvertently pushing out more blade than intended. The stock blades seem sharp and are really strong and even when I used them to cut up carpet (demo is my favorite hobby) they performed well especially as the screw would hor three or four segments in place. I would imagine this would help cutting insulation such as Rockwool. Loading fresh blades is easy too. Being yellow makes it easy to find. The size of the knife could be a plus or minus as it is fairly long and wide and feels substantial in the hand not flimsy like a plastic knife. It feels more suited to heavy work than my nice Makita 18mm knife.I have no hesitation in recommending this knife.

Bigger & better than expected 5 stars
This knife is a beast. I bought this so I'd have a long bladed breakaway knife to cut styrofoam insulation sheets that we sometimes install before we put new siding on old houses. I was tired of borrowing my coworkers' fat max breakaway knife, so when I got home I ordered this from Amazon. Shipping was fine and, just last week I got my first chance to use it. I had no idea that the 25 mm was much bigger than all of my coworkers 18mms, but it is. The blade is longer & stronger than I expected, which is great because of how often my coworkers 18mm blades would break. The metal of this blade is about as think and strong as a standard utility knife blade. I have yet to break a blade, except when the tip dulled & I broke a breakaway portion off the front like it's designed for. To me this was a really good purchase, what I got was better than what I expected, so I have no problem giving 5 stars whatsoever. HOWEVER, had I known how much I was going to like it, I might've got the stainless steel 25mm Fat Max version- for the coolness factor. If this knife breaks or gets lost or stolen, that is what I'll do.PLEASE NOTE: this knife might be heavier than expected, which didn't bother me at all, but may be a factor to someone else

A knife from the "tall & big" section, but sturdy nevertheless
I ordered this knife after comparing similar products' features, prices & reviews. The body is made of metal, plastic, and rubber. The black rubber encasing might be the first part to get some damage, although the exposed metal front is susceptible to damage if dropped on a hard floor as well. The yellow plastic part seems sturdy too. Something that wasn't clear from the manufacturer's pictures, was the inclusion of a blade knob to lock the blade in place. This was the selling point to me since I'm intending to use this to cut carpet, rope and other applications in construction work where a blade locked in place is needed. This knife weighs 9.25 oz (including the replacement blades encased in its body), measures 8½ inches long with the blade completely retracted, about 2 inches at its widest point, and about 1 inch thick. That puts this knife within the "tall & big" league. I'm a male who wears medium size gloves and it feels a bit bigger/heavier than expected. Nevertheless, it has a nice sturdy feel to it.I will update my review after some time of using it in the workplace.

Best Snap Knife I've Owned
25mm is a big blade but it's exactly what I needed. Having the ability to lock the blade in place is a good for deep cuts into things like foam board. On board storage of 2 extra blades is pretty handy. It's also got a snap bit in the handle to snap off the blades in case you don't have a pair of pliers on hand. I used to own the all metal version that was much heavier and very robust. I'd prefer that over this but this one is gonna be rust proof.

Love it.
I really like it, even though I bought the wrong one. This particular model is massive. But I like it so I’m keeping it and buying a smaller one.

Beefy cutter with spare blade storage
This cutter is stout! It is meant for heavy duty work, and is probably overkill for use as a box cutter. I wear men's large gloves, and it fits my hand just fine. I think a medium size hand would handle it well. The thick blades provide reassurance for tough jobs. You won't have that wobbly feeling you get using smaller blades when the going gets tough. The blade clamp has its advantages when cutting objects that will drag on the blade like linoleum or thick cardboard. You need to remember to loosen it to retract the blade, though. It's not a big deal once you get used to it.Having spare blades stored in the handle is nice. The cap on the end can be used to snap off the dull ends, but it seems a bit wimpy. I think I'll stick with my pliers for that when they are handy.

Older Aluminum handled version is better
This seems like a good snap-knife, but compared to the earlier aluminum handheld model Stanley 10-817 this one has more bulk, and less comfort. I've been using the earlier model for a several years and it's fantastic; this one is just OK. Not sure why they didn't carry the over-moulding on the bottom all the way to the end of the knife as the nylon/plastic shell is not comfortable. This one feels way too bulky and much less comfortable than the all metal version. Maybe if you have large hands this one will feel better to you, but I doubt it.

Outstanding Snap Off Knife
When I got this knife my first impression was "this is too big". Then as I started using it I found out how wonderful it works. Before this one I had a Stanley plastic knife it was light but kept breaking. This knife is a beast !!! The blades are bigger and I feel sharper, they last longer and because the frame is metal it will be next to impossible for it ever to break. Other features I like is that there is a blade locking screw on the side which prevents the blade from slipping out while your pulling on the knife, a BIG plus. Not only that but inside the knife it stores additional blades which are easily placed in operation without any tools requited, when you get to the end of the strip of current blades. If there were ten stars I would give it that kind of a rating. In over fifty years of using razor knives this is definitely the best ever made.

fantastic heavy duty chunky knife
had compartment to hold five blades inside handle and easy blade exchange with one slide and blade break off tool built in, this is thick blade and cuts easily with chunky handle not causing fatigue on hand when used for longer time

Very firm and control of blade
Likes-Carries multiple blades-very stiff control of the blade and doesn't let the blade snap under heavy load.-locks blade in place-i like the feel and grip-Locks blade firmly with indexable advance and vice thing at the tipDislikesThe blade comes apart if you retract the blade too far. Happens when you have a fresh blade. Trust me though this is a very insignificant con.I've had 4 of these. I lost 3 and the last one broke from dropping and abusing it. It still works I just want a new one.All the ones I had were the 18mm size this will be my first 22mm. This is the only type of knife I ever buy all the others suck. ALL.
